Sleep? We don't need no stinkin' sleep.

Apr 10, 2006 00:05

According to the National Sleep Foundation: "being awake for 18 hours produced an impairment equal to a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .05, and .10 after 24 hours"

Wow, so I'm freakin' trashed on most days.

hi :) this is monkeytex, but I have this old lj account that I never update anymore and I only use it to keep up with everyone else and leave comments!

I think about this all the time! I think I heard it on NPR one morning, and then realized that when I stay out late I always feel wasted, even if I only have one drink. and then I realized that even if I have zero drinks I feel wasted too. One morning I couldn't remember where I had parked my car!!!

Scary.

After 72 straight hours of consciousnes one can be declaired legally insane due to hallucinations that can be caused by sleep deprivation...After five years of college and 11 "finals week" cram sessions, I and my compatriates have gone above and beyond proving this one.

Whoa, I don't know that I've done that... but I'm sure my brother has. And yeah, he'd qualify for insane.

not the healthiest thing in the world to do to your body. My personal best was 57 hours with a power nap in the library, then going another 36. It got to the point where it was almost a badge of honor to look haggered and drag ass while mainlining coffee. Ahh college.
