Wow! That's what I would call a successful harvest.. and a lot of work. We had so much tomatoes, too. Yesterday we picked the last 5 Kilos so today is tomato Sauce day *g* All Pictures are great, especially the second to last one. This Looks like a part in middle Earth. Thanks for sharing, Little Hobbit. I wish I could have been there ... but... never say never! Happy Friday, sunshine!

Nothing better than tomatoes fresh out of the garden! Ooohhh, tomato sauce! That sounds yummy!!! Heh, that pic. I'm quite fond of it. I snapped it while my sister and I searched for the best path up the mountain. I HAD to stop and take a pic! <3

Haha, this hard work is closely linked with a lot of cursing lololol But we grew up with it and I hope that we will be able to continue doing it!

*SNORTS* I find a lot of cussing does the soul good when it's linked to stubbing toes, hauling heavy weights and generally working your butt off!

Beautiful photos<3<3 LOOK AT THAT JUICE!!! <3 That is soooo nice you can make your own! How did the strudel turn out? ;) Did you chop your own wood?! Hubby's friend in Yamagata was chopping wood in the summer and making a second wood house to house it all :)

Thank you <3 The strudel wasn't my thing...mmmh, for various reasons? The ratio between apple and dough was...mmhh, lets say it was basically just apple pieces in a veeeery thin dough coat. I like it when it's more...cake like? I don't know if this made sense now lololol

We get the wood pieces in long trunks. We then saw them and yes, then they still need to be chopped (for my oven in the living room anyway or they won't fit lol). BUT at least I have warm feet in winter! LOLOL Seems like your hubby's friend has a LOT of wood!

Wow, you've been very busy, thanks so much for sharing these pics. We go blackberrying here, but the best ones always seem out of reach- ain't that life! I love your huge wood pile, you're set for winter now! And the mushrooms look lovely, I'd be too worried to pick them myself in case I got poisonous ones. That toadstool at the end is so perfect - and the scenery looks like something from LOTR!

At the end of the day, we're all thankful for the products we can harvest. Despite all the hard work. But one positive thing of winter is, that you won't need to go out and dig around in soil lololol Yeah, we only collect chanterelles and sometimes yellow boletuses. These are the ones we know pretty good!

Man, I think that toadstool was a really lucky found. Normally they aren't quite that perfect! AND YES! LOTR! (I wish lolol) <3

Woah, I didn't know you were this hands on with vegetables, I'm in awe, especially of that HUGE potato; it's bigger than the cauliflower, haha! Sure looks like you are ready for winter. Now I know where to go if supplies run out;)

Love the photos of the hike too, very magical; that mushroom looks like there should be a kobold right under it! (Kabouter in Dutch:)

We're totally covered for winter. So if the world does indeed end, I think you can make the drive in a couple of hours! lololol And yeah, the potatoes were exceptionally big this year.

I should go back and take a pic with my Canon. These were taken with my phone and don't have the best quality! I love that toadstool pic I took! Lucky found! (Maybe there was a kabouter and it just hid when we approached. Who knows!)
