sorry, but it'd be hard to top goin out like hitler, and dictactors...they just try not to copy each other too much. It's that whole megalomaniacal/delusional thing- gotta have their own way ( ... )

You've got a good point it is kinda hard to beat someone that completely turned a country around economically and conquered europe in a decade. But Hitler got the basic point it's much better to be in a ditch covered in petrol on fire than being held like an animal in and cage shown being poked and prodded on national television. All I'm saying is that Saddam should have been a man about it. You don't go mercilessly ruling a country for twenty-four years and then turn your self into the country that's been your archenemy with two loaded weapons! You've got to make them work for your dead ass and you never ever let them get you alive.

By the way, props for the Izzard reference. At least Saddam wasn't stupid enough to try to win a ground war in Russia.

yeah, playing hide and go seek with the almost the entire american military and intelligence forces for 8 months isn't really the best way to go. I think they caught him napping and tired...as far as being alive goes- which in my opinion is no way to be caught by your "archenemies" or anyone- opening up with an ak when you're stuck in a hole surrounded by what just might be an ENTIRE BATTALION of US Troops...yeah odds are you wouldn't make it out even if you had a hundred ak clips, but that does kinda miss the point of going out like a mad dog dictactor vs a mangey old dog. (I know there were 600 troops, but Saddam didn't know that, they caught him in a hole, one grenade and his ass woulda been fertilizer- pre-mulched)
