starving

i was afraid to lose
my precious possessions
so i pulled harder now than
ever to keep them close
soon
i learned that
certain things require a
softer touch and
a gentle grasp would do
as
many fragile objects
would soon cease to exist
if suffocated
from an iron fist
so
i must be  patient
and let them go
for my love will
return if it so desires
