I think I've finally made the leap of faith here.

I've been weighing the pros and cons of a career as an MD or a PA incessantly for weeks- possibly months.

I have made the decision to go with Physician's Assistant. A part of me feels like I'm taking the easy way out, but I know in my heart that becoming an MD hinders the two things I want most in ( Read more... )

Strictly from a cost-benefit analysis, I don't know why anyone does MD anymore (outside of maybe going into a specialization or research). PA programs get you out there making money so much earlier and like you said, you can have a family and a life outside your job.
And the GRE is infinitely more appealing than the MCAT, lol. I'm studying for it now.

I hear UF has a nice PA program. :-)

I know it! It's kind of ridiculous! Hehe. I'm so excited.

Oh jeez. I'm just glad I no longer think of my future and have an instant anxiety attack. I wish I were joking about that. The MCAT was like the Grim Reaper for me.

Okay, so I hope I don't come off as a total organization freak but I made an Excel spread sheet [yup, I'm an organization freak.] of all the schools that interested me and I have all information for each school. UF is in my top five. :o)

I make lists for everything, lol. So I'll never be one to judge someone on their organizational practices. :-)
