Hey girlie. I know today was a rough day, but it was just the first day. It takes a while to get into the groove of things. Don't give up. You have other teachers around for support, advice, suggestions, etc. Take it! Take all you can get! Even if it doesn't seem relavent right now, you just never know--file it and keep it for later. About your students with specail needs...talk to the special ed teachers in your school, find your school psychologist, ask other teachers...there are lots of resources in your school, not to mention the abundant resources on the web. You will do great! If you need any help, just ask and I'll see what I can find out for you. Remember, I'm a school psychologist--I know a few things about special ed, and what I don't know, I can help you find out. =) You're doing great, so keep it up. =)

Love ya!

well, hopefully it will get better.
Sometimes, though, I think it's too damn bad it's illegal for us to bitch slap someone under the age of 18... I would have done it to my cousin a couple of times.

Okay. First thing tomorrow. Go over the rules again. When they complain, say well you didn't seem to get it the first time so we will continue to go over the rules until you can get them. Do not back down. If a student doesn't follow your rules, then follow your consquences. But don't do it in front of the whole class. Things will can get messy. Ususally did for me. Make sure the parents have to sign your rules and procedures. That way when they call or come in to complain about how little Johnny was missed treated by you, you can say this is what he did and this is action I had to take. You even signed the paper saying you know that. I would also call every parent and introduce yourself to them. This will be a big pain in the butt. But it can help in the long run when a student is not doing well academically or is miss behaving. Assign the seats. This your classroom not theirs. I would also change them though when you see problems. With a class of 26 you will have students that do not get a long with others. Also ( ... )

Hey there... wow... yeah... it does not sound like you had a good day at all. I do hope things will get better for you. I've never been a teacher, so I don't have any inspired words of wisdom for you... but I will offer lots of prayers and support and an ear if you need someone to talk to.

*hugs* Most of all, I'm praying for you though. You can do this. It's sounding like a lot of this is asserting yourself as Ms. Jepson and making sure the kids know you are not Ms. Barr - they probably think because you're not her, they can walk all over you. I knoooooooow you will not let them pull that stuff on you.

And the special needs kids... wow... how severe are they?

*sends hugs and prayers your way* I'll be praying for you a lot tomorrow. I hope it goes better than today.
