I was thinking of getting Ianto a pet for Christmas...

But, I don't really know what kind of pet to get him.

We used to have a pet dinosaur, so I doubt there's an animal here in Vatheon that would be unmanageable.

Any suggestions? I'm afraid I'm not really that great at pet selection.

A pet is a terrible idea.

...Oh? And why is that?

You're getting him something that will by the end cost more money to care for than in getting it to begin with. Not to mention it will die.

Technically, with things being free, it wouldn't cost that much.

Besides...everything dies eventually.

...a chocobo? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with those. Although, I know we have a stable of them around here.

This is a chocobo.

[There's some rustling sounds, a little squawking, and suddenly the SFC's screen is filled with blue bird face.]

When they're full grown, you can ride them.

I'm not certain bees would make very good pets.

Well, they don't really keep you company, unless there's something about bees I don't know.

Good point about the plants, though.

I am not well-versed in the animals of this world, but... when in doubt about that sort of thing, is it really right to take responsibility for an animal?

At any rate, I suggest something that can be litter trained.

I'm hoping he'll like the company.

So...maybe a cat?

Well, you can't go wrong with a cat! So long as he isn't allergic.

True. Maybe I'll get him a cat, then.

I'm quite fond of owls. Mine carries my post for me.

[Lily adjusts her video so he can see her owl. He's in a cage behind her, a beautiful spotted owl.]

This is Nonnatus.

He's gorgeous.

Exactly how do you take care of an Owl?
