Leave me a comment saying "Resistance is Futile."

• I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can satisfy my curiosity
• Update your journal with the answers to the questions
• Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions

1. Where do you hope to be in five years (and no, I'm not interviewing you for a job!) I want to be a mother within the next five years. I suffer through a lot of personal shame in not having a college degree and/or a career I'm proud of, but I would put it all on hold, in a heartbeat, for a baby.

2. Who is your favourite author (or top three) and what is your favourite book (or which are your top three)?
Neil Gaiman - American Gods

3. What is your favourite film (or top three)?
The Princess Bride
The Boondock Saints (SO ANGRY THAT THE SEQUEL IS NOT PLAYING ANYWHERE NEAR ME!)
Stand By Me

4. Tell me a happy memory of yours from growing up. This is cheating since I could only list three movies, but I used to love watching Star Wars with my grandfather. Because we never, ever just watched one movie. We would plan a weekend, probably once every 6-9 months, and we would watch the entire original trilogy. I got all my best and worst qualities from my grandfather as he was the most present, most driving force growing up.

5. What do you feel most attractive wearing? My favorite part of my body is my collarbone. I know boobs are sexy and I have the cleavage to flaunt (and I do!), but I feel most attractive in boat or v-neck tops. I love the curves in my neck and shoulders.

1) how are the driving lessons going? are you still taking them? are you a stick shift MASTER???? I got two minutes in the car with bio-dad as my only lesson. So far, I still hate it and even get a pit in my stomach when I know I have to take the Saab. My daily commute is both a blessing and a curse. I have a lot of long, flat stretches at a 55 mph speed limit with minimal stop lights. Depending on the traffic (and how many stop signs I can illegally roll through) there are days when I can get from the house to work's parking lot with only having to suffer through the initial shift into 1st gear. Of course, that means I'm not practicing. Add the fact that I only need to use the car 1 or 2 times a week, and I really haven't been practicing. I don't stall as much anymore, but I still pop the clutch and make the whole car shudder. Oh, and I've graduated to peeling out. *facepalm*

2) are you watching Glee yet? :D Yes and I LOVE it. I can't believe I didn't check it out from the beginning. As much as I adore Will and Emma, I really, really hate when stories use that plot. I hate when they make a character's significant other this horrible person you just can't get behind, so that you hope he/she will cheat on them with this other character who just happens to be perfect. Blah.

3) i just noticed your TMNT comment theme thingy ;) do explain the history you and TMNT have. I was obsessed with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I watched the cartoon religiously, my backpack/trapper keeper/lunch box were all turtle themed, I had an unhealthy amount of their toys (the van that shot pizzas was a personal favorite), and my grandmother threatened to take them away from me the day I asked for gummy bears and marshmallow fluff on my pizza. I saw both movies in theatres (we do not acknowledge the existence of the 3rd movie, abomination that it is) and have been seeking out the original comics for a long time now. I can rattle off the differences between the comic and the cartoon, tell you all about the bad guys, bought the shitty video games for the shitty new series just because playing through meant I could unlock the original TMNT video game, and I know the words to the Ninja Rap from the 2nd movie. I will have a Donatello tattoo some day.

God I'm a Nerd.

4) how much are you guys loving living roommate-free? are you still loving it, or are you stressing about not having that other person to help with bills? I love it. I love the freedom, I love that my husband paints all the time because he has the space in that second bedroom. I love being able to be alone with my husband, or all by myself, I love walking around pantsless, I love that sense of this being our space. Unfortunately, we have to pay bills. We've been able to squeak by, but this area is just absurdly expensive. We've dropped down to the minimum payments on all our bills, and my mom's husband is letting us take a breather on the money we owe him. At first it meant we couldn't put any money in savings. Now, we've started taking money out of our meager-to-begin-with savings. So as much as we love it, we have to keep looking for a roommate. We have someone coming to meet us tomorrow, cross your fingers!

5) next five years. GO.
see above, ha!
