Wearing a pot lid for a helmet and a carving knife held in a stubby little pink hand like a sword.

He also wasn't smiling. He was out, in the open, as if he hoped to draw attention from those "threats".]

[And he sees a fat-looking red penguin wearing a crown. With a cry, it slides at the puffball at high speed!]

[Kirby would leap up, feet kicking wide to the sides as if to let the thing go under him. Only Kirby didn't jump high enough to give it full clearance. He would come down on its back, chopping as he did so with the knife as if it were a sword.]

[The popguin squeals, its surface fizzing like static from the knife as it rights itself, flailing razor-sharp wings at the puffball.]

[Kirby would try to bring the knife up and parry the blows. He took a couple cuts and got knocked backwards rolling and dropping the knife a moment.

He wasn't down for long. Leaping up to land on his feet to get ready for the next attack.]

[The popguin's moveset is about as limited as your standard miniboss, and it bellysildes after the marshmallow from Pop Star.]

[The Popguin flails at Kirby again a few more times, then charges.]

[Okay! He has it down now. Kart wheel out of the way. Rush the Penguin when it righted itself. Flash kick! The back flip involved in the kick moved Kirby just out of range of the flailing and would let the puff take a few steps back if the thing could charge again.]

College Algebra/Trig. I used to know this stuff, and it just...faded.

[Three hits have registerred! The popguin bays at the air, and there's a rush as four smaller penguins slide towards you from an alley!]

Alot of that stuff is memorization. Are you more of a words or picture person?

[Kirby looked to this and realized this was trouble. He grabbed the pot and the knife, charging the big one again. Sliding away from the smaller ones to get up close with the big one. Slash! Bam!

Kirby did not have his powers but he was still a tough little puff ball.]

[The leader fizzes yet again. It's a tough one, and without your usual strength, your hits aren't doing more than minimal damage. It's starting to crackle with static at a more regular rate now, so it is weakening! It bays at the air, and slides at you, as its flunkies slide from your other side.]
