In the middle of the night, I sometimes reread all my favorite quotes and poems and imagine what it might be like if I could compress the sum of everything they represent to me and give it to another person.

Then I accept that if someone ever understood me that well, I'd be too intimidated to speak with them.

And then I can sleep.

I discovered the Storyteller's Creed the other night. I am enchanted.

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge.

That myth is more potent than history.

That dreams are more powerful than facts.

That hope always triumphs over experience.

That laughter is the only cure for grief.

And I believe that love is stronger than death.

I've been thinking about Love Never Dies lately, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera sequel. Generally I've been supportive of it, as I tend to support anything canon over fan-written, but I have to admit that there are a few things that just feel wrong.

My original story, tentatively titled Figment, is growing into something big. Generally I do bad with longer stories....as much as I adore reading them, I'm so much better at writing one-shots. Since Dragon*Con is the ONLY con I'm going to this year, I'm going to have superfun with costumes. I'm bringing THREE. Yep, I'm going to be one of THOSE people.
