Enjoyable holidays to all.

This was probably the smoothest Christmas ever had in my memory. No one fought in any significant way and everyone got things that they wanted. Not bad, say I.

- a stocking filled with such as candy and nuts
- a face trimmer from my mother
- Vols. 4 and 5 of Ranma 1/2 (bless little sisters who just grab the first thing they can afford)
- a bust of Lupin the Third from my oldest brother (who hates Lupin)
- a board for throwing knives at from the youngest brother
- two sets of exotic beer w/ glasses from the second-oldest brother
- a shirt from my mother
- a pair of pants from my mother
- a really deluxe-style heavy overcoat (from my mother) that feels resistant enough to ward off vitriol
- a tie from my mother
- a selection of travel mugs and flasks (from my mother)
- fabric scissors from my mother
- a sewing box from my mother
- an iron from my mother
and
- a sewing machine (first one of my own that I've ever had) from my mother.

My mother has scads of arcane little traditions regarding Christmas, but the big ones as far as gifts are concerned read thus: everyone gets a roughly equal amount spent on them, and everyone gets a "big gift". Mine was the sewing equipment. My little brother and my little sister got iPod Nanoes. My second-oldest brother got paints and canvas and related items. My oldest brother got that Wii. My mother got some weirdly enormous decorative Nativity set. Not bad, all in all.
