Yesterday morning I received an executive order from my American university (well, though our study abroad travel insurance company) to evacuate. I haven't cried the whole time, and they tell me to go? I bawled so hard, and then got on the phone with my dad, and it was sort of horribly embarrassing

The post is...not exactly running at the moment, and I think a lot of countries stopped accepting packages for the northeast of Japan. But I really appreciate the offer, and will let everyone know when the post is working again! Just a postcard or letter after all of this would make my world. ♥

The International Office actually accepted my decision with rather great warmth -- if there's one benefit to being the Queen of Study Abroad, it's that they trust my judgment. It's the insurance company that's a fucking asshole (wait till you hear nolaen's story). I don't know my standing with the school itself right now, but I assume I will be taken back next year?
