As long as you can manage your intake it can be fun. It's hard to describe exactly how it's fun. Obviously if you go overboard you can spend the night puking your guts out (not fun).

The answer from my family of alcoholics... wine, mind you, not beer, for them, it just happens to taste delicious and is addictive and warps your brain to find everything amusing.
