--
Dark hair fell into his eyes as he clutched the microphone tighter in his hands, fingers wrapping around them in a familiar way that gave him a rush, lips parting to sing the next line. His voice reverberating all around the room as spotlights above the stage rained red light onto him, turning his skin a crimson colour as he belted out the words to the song, throwing his head back for just a moment, and used that opportunity to wipe away the beat of sweat off his forehead. His hands, the second and fourth fingers painted black, ran through his hair as he shot a dazzling grin at the crowd that was growing louder and more demanding as the song came to a close.
As the final note approached, he stepped away from the microphone stand, taking the microphone with him and the final words that escaped his throat gave way to the screams and cheers of the crowd. He tilted his head, looking up at the spotlights that were now shining green on him as he stretched the note on as the chords of the guitar began to soften, leaving his voice as the only sound heard over the sound of screams and cheers. He lowered the microphone, and couldn’t help but let out a sharp laugh as he heard the deafening approval of the crowd. Placing the microphone back into its place on the stand, he played with the chains on his black pants, catching his breath. Sweat glistened on his skin and the black eyeliner under his eyes was starting to feel more and more uncomfortable. He turned to the left of the stage, looking past his grinning band mates, and at the slim man who stood there, watching him with such an intense look in his eyes that made Jin want to glide over there right then and there and -
Jin was bought out of his musings by the sound of the guitarist talking to the crowd, above their screams of approval and he forced himself to wait it out on stage. The fact that the younger man was right there, so close and looking so good in a pair of tight, ripped jeans, and a shirt that hugged his slim body, emphasizing muscles so perfectly, was like torture for Jin. Not even the cap pulled low, effectively hiding the younger man’s face as long as he kept his head down, was enough to further convince Jin of the notion that the man was possibly, just very, perfectly hot.
Once he was off the stage, Jin didn’t hesitate in grabbing the younger man’s arm in a tight vice-like grip ignoring the squirm of protest he got and dragging him into a secluded room, had the younger man slammed against the wall. The cap he had been wearing fell to the ground and Jin’s lips crushed his furiously.
There were a few muffled sounds as the younger man tried to shout out in surprise, only to be silenced by Jin’s tongue gliding over soft lips. Jin smirked just a little as the younger man gave in and began to kiss him back, just as furiously. He ran hands over Kame’s shoulders and deepened the kiss, pushing Kame’s back against the wall. Finally, with a bite of Kame’s lower lip, that drew a gasp, Jin drew away. Kame looked at Jin with a breathless look and he was breathing heavily. Then, Kame traced a shape on Jin’s cheek and let out a breathy chuckle.
“J?” he asked, referring to the intricate letter Jin’s band mates had drawn onto his cheek with black eyeliner earlier, making Jin look like he had a gothic style tattoo on his smooth skin.
“Who said they could use my name for you?” Kame laughed as he rested his lips on the letter, and there was a moment when Jin stopped breathing - the moment when Kame kissed the letter on Jin’s cheek, his tongue jutting out just a little to flit over the decorated skin fleetingly.
Kame then made a weird face and Jin couldn’t help it - a throaty laugh escaped his lips, “They used liquid eyeliner to do that” he said, knowing that that was what was causing the look on Kame’s face.
Kame shot him a disgruntled look, “You could have warned me”
Jin smirked, tapping Kame’s nose with his finger, “And where would be the fun in that?” he asked as he ran his finger along Kame’s jaw line. He leaned in closer for another kiss. Kame’s shoulders that had stiffened when Jin had started teasing him, relaxed and he was practically melting against the wall. The only thing keeping him from falling down to the ground were Jin’s legs on either side of him, keeping him standing.
Before their lips touched, however, Jin suddenly straightened and Kame blinked at him in confusion, and was almost pouting - almost. He watched as Jin gave a frustrated groan and with one fluid motion, had lifted the tight black shirt decorated with studs and chains over his head and threw it on the floor. Jin let out a sigh of relief at being out of the tight confines of the shirt and looked back at Kame.
He smirked just a little, “Do you like what you see?” he asked, lips barely parting as he leaned in closer and closer to Kame, before pressing his lips firmly against Kame’s once again. Kame’s hands travelled up Jin’s bare upper body, fingers finding their way to the chain necklace around Jin’s neck. He pulled at the warm metal, bringing Jin’s body closer to his and he tilted his head, deepening the kiss and throaty and unheard whispers were muffled by Jin’s lips.
When Jin’s tongue touched Kame’s lips, his hands traveling up and down Kame’s arms, only to find themselves in Kame’s hair, Kame suddenly pulled his lips away. Jin looked at him startled, eyes half-lidded as he stared at Kame, wondering what the younger man was doing.
He tried to pull Kame closer, but the younger man just smiled - although to Jin, it looked a lot like an evil smirk - and he pulled a long thin chain from under his shirt and held it up, dangling it in front of Jin. The older man wondered if it was natural for Kame’s eyes to look that mischievous and if it was possible for one look and one smile to make him want to kiss Kame until the younger man couldn’t breathe, let him breathe for one second, and then kiss him again.
His eyes followed the object on the chain, swinging back and forth like a pendulum and he gave up all attempts at self-control. His hands gripped Kame’s, and he pressed them against the wall. The chain dangled, the hand that had been holding it, still clutching onto it tightly and Jin wondered if Kame knew that that look, that smile, just the sight of him was enough to drive Jin crazy.
Jin leaned in closer, peering at the object dangling from the chain with a smirk.
“This couldn’t be meant for me, could it?” he asked in a knowing, almost taunting voice as moved a hand to finger the metal dangling from the chain. The key glinted in the dim lighting.
“Maybe” Kame said, a small smile gracing his lips, “It might be”
Jin tilted his head, smirk growing.
“Well, unless you think I’m secretly seeing another rising rock star ,who has the habit of inviting me to his concerts and then ravaging my lips in an empty room, when his band mates are looking for him and might find him ravaging said lips ,even though it’s supposed to be a secret relationship…then yes, it’s for you” Kame finished sweetly.
He didn’t have time to say anything else as Jin kissed him full on the lips.
Kame looked at Jin, trying to suppress the smile that was threatening to show on his lips, “Does this mean you want this?” he asked dangling the key up with the chain.
“Maybe” Jin repeated Kame’s words to him as he leaned closer, “I might”
Kame smirked just a little as he leaned against the wall, wrapping his arms around Jin’s neck, “Are you going to get it or am I going to have to give it to you myself?”
Jin grinned, “I’ll take that as a challenge” he said and proceeded to kiss Kame again, only this time, his hands were wandering behind Kame, to the nape of the younger man’s neck. Fingers fumbled clumsily with the clasp of the chain. Kame broke the kiss with soft, amused, laughter and Jin bit down on Kame’s lip, cutting off the laughter that was both teasing him and distracting him from getting the key.
Finally, he got the chain unhooked and grinned at Kame, “I got it~” he sang out.
Kame smiled back, “Well then” he said as he bent down to pick up the cap that he fallen off his head earlier, “…I’ll see you there then~” he said as with a quick kiss, he began to head for the doors. Jin’s eyes narrowed, as he watched Kame’s figure, hips swaying just a little as he walked in those jeans that just hugged his figure.
“Where do you think you’re going?” he asked, reaching a hand out to grab Kame’s wrist. The younger man turned with a dazzling smile, “I think your band is looking for their lead singer” he said, “So I should leave before they find us”
“Not so fast” Jin nearly growled out and pulled Kame closer, “They can wait” he murmured, brushing his lips over Kame’s lingeringly. His hands pulled at Kame’s shirt, travelling under them, caressing the soft skin of Kame’s midriff.
It wasn’t long before calls of Jin’s name cut through the air, and Jin drew away with a start and Kame looked up with an ‘I told you so’ expression.
Then he smiled, “I’ll see you soon” he said, not even bothering to phrase it as a question for he knew it wouldn’t be long before he would see Jin again. He gave it an hour or two. Before he walked away though, the same sort of confident walk that he was well-practiced with in his modelling work, he blew Jin a little kiss and walked out the door.
As he did, Jin couldn’t help but stare, mutter “Tease” darkly under his breath and lick his lips just a little.
He was still doing so, when he left the room and bumped into the drummer.
“There you are!” he said irritably, “Where have you been?”
Jin could only offer a huge grin in response and the drummer found that he really didn’t want to know at all.
* * *
Bright lights shone down on the catwalk, illuminating the white curtains, from which the models were supposed to appear. Already, people had started to seat themselves around the long stage, an even tempo of music trickling in through the loudspeakers. Behind the curtains, they could hear a flurry of noise and activity, as orders were shouted and the models quickly got into their outfits.
Kame sat back in a chair backstage, a pair of faded jeans hugging his lower body. A studded belt was worn loosely, slung around his hips and a smooth, white, sleeveless shirt clung to his body. A long black jacket was the last piece of clothing in his outfit, the jacket falling down just a little so that his shoulders were exposed. A simple necklace was worn around his neck, the silver chain glinting. He sat back in his chair, one foot propped up on the table and an arm propped up on the armrest with his chin resting in his hand. He was watching with an amused smile as everyone else ran back and forth, getting ready. Wisps of hair carefully fell into his eyes and Kame just continued watching everyone, the smile on his face growing more and more amused as time approached for the show to start.
Once everyone was ready, the music changed drastically from soothing and calming to a more upbeat tempo that matched every step that each model took. Kame shook his head just a little, bangs falling in layers over just above his eyes and he peered through them at the crowd gathered as he walked out. His steps were precise, graceful and confident enough that there was no doubt to anyone else in the crowd, that Kamenashi Kazuya, was simply put, a professional. That this was where Kame shone the brightest. The gaze that he sent out at all the photographers in the crowd, all the cameras, was one of intensity, of daring, of desire.
He walked to the end of the catwalk and with a light flick of his hand, one that was subtle but made everyone just pay all that much more attention, and a little smirk, he stood in place for a second or two, before turning on his heel and walking back to the curtains. His hips swayed with every step and Kame knew that even though he was wearing the jacket, the movement was obvious, and the cameras clicking away frantically just bought a smile on his face once he was backstage once more.
He quickly headed to one of the assistants who handed him the next outfit he was to wear out and a decidedly satisfied smirk crossed his face when he saw what it was. When it was his cue to get back onto the catwalk, Kame had to fight to keep back the huge smirk that wanted to appear on his face. Instead, he settled for a small, self-satisfied one as he walked down the stage in nothing but a pair of jeans.
Two fingers found themselves on the belt loop of the pants, tugging it down just a little to give a teasing hint of tantalizingly smooth skin. Cold air conditioning hit bare skin but he paid it no mind, as he walked in an almost tantalizingly slow manner, hips that were hugged by the jeans, sashaying, down to the end of the catwalk. Without a shirt on and wearing only these jeans, he left nothing to the imagination of the audience as he walked to the very end of the catwalk. He stood there for the same short few seconds, bangs falling over his eyes which he stared through, flicking his head just a little, getting the hair out of his eyes. The gaze he fixed upon the crowd was simply put, alluring. Then, after those few seconds passed, he turned around and walked back to the curtains, where the next model was waiting. Head held high, lips formed into an irresistible smirk, confidence in every step; the newspapers and magazines that covered this shoot would agree on one thing: every movement that Kame had made on the catwalk tonight was seductive.
It was another half hour before Kame was finally done, and he grinned when he looked at his reflection in the mirror, wearing a sleeveless top and a pair of jeans. He perched a pair of dark sunglasses on his nose as he grabbed his bag and left, the others still too busy to anything but mutter a “Good work today” to him as he passed them.
He hadn’t gotten very far, only to the hallway that led out to the back of the building, when he felt a hand on his wrist, pulling him into a dark corner. He found himself pressed up against the wall as a pair of hands placed themselves on other side of his waist.
“Hey J~” Kame whispered teasingly.
Jin’s only response was to stare at Kame, who was looking up almost innocently. Then with a shake of his head, he traced a finger over Kame’s lips. Kame blinked up at Jin, who was still staring intently at Kame, and with a flash of mischievousness in his eyes, his tongue flitted out from between his lips and licked Jin’s finger.
Jin started, and instinctively jumped back, before he realized just what had happened and he glared at Kame, who blinked innocently.
“Hey!” he protested.
Kame smiled, “Yes?”
“You licked my finger”
“You were staring at me” Kame countered and then he blinked again and smiled angelically, “Oh sorry, I thought we were stating obvious facts”
Jin growled just a little, fingers wrapping around Kame’s wrist. He lowered his lips to Kame’s, although it was not long before he gave a little snarl of frustration and pulled away. Then he snatched Kame’s sunglasses off the younger man’s face.
Kame laughed in amusement.
“They’re getting in the way of me kissing you properly” Jin retorted almost grumpily as he threw them to the ground. They made a clattering sound as Jin kissed Kame again, pushing Kame against the wall as the kiss deepened. Kame’s hand that was not trapped by Jin’s hand, travelled up to tangle itself in Jin’s hair, as they kissed.
Kame’s eyes opened suddenly when Jin broke the kiss. The singer was looking at Kame with an intense expression that made Kame’s heart skip a beat.
“Do you know -” Jin broke off his question by kissing Kame quickly, hands travelling to place themselves on Kame’s hips, “Just how -” another kiss, “Fucking hot you looked tonight?”
Kame looked innocently at Jin.
“And don’t give me that innocent look, not when you with your - your hips and the - the shirt, and…and…and those jeans”
Kame smiled at Jin, “So you liked it?” he asked.
“Liked it?” Jin groaned, “Kazuya, you’re a freaking tease” he muttered darkly under his breath, “Asking me if I liked it - I have half a mind to drag you to my place to make you give me an exact re-enactment of the show right now”
Kame merely shot him a beaming smile.
Suddenly, there was a low growl in the hallway and Kame burst out laughing. Jin looked a bit embarrassed.
“Oh, J, did you not eat at all?”
“It’s not my fault! I was excited since you gave me the tickets to the show. I didn’t know you prima donna models took that long to get ready”
Kame laughed as he bent to pick up his sunglasses and after putting them back into place, he took Jin’s hand, “C’mon, I’ll make you something at my place”
Jin pouted just a little, although he would never admit it, “But I’m not done ravishing your lips and kissing you until you can’t breathe”
Kame smiled teasingly as he kissed Jin on the lips. Then he drew away slowly, lips barely moving as he whispered, “I’ll cook wearing only those jeans”
Jin’s answer was tugging on Kame’s hand and dragging him toward the exit.
* * *
The fact that their relationship was kept a secret, hardly ever bothered Kame. To the younger man, it just provided a lot more entertainment in seeing Jin’s reactions, than he would have thought possible. True, he was sometimes disconcerted, thinking that Jin just didn’t want to admit he was dating him, but that feeling quickly went away when he remembered Jin’s argument about why they had to keep their relationship a secret.
It was merely the fact that they were on completely different sides of the entertainment industry: Kame, who was a model whose popularity rose depending on how perfect he could act. On the catwalk, in magazines, in interviews, everything that made up Kame’s career was based on how perfect he could be. Jin, on the other hand, got his popularity from how many songs filled with dark, yet beautiful lyrics, he could write; how many screams from the crowd he could get and how much more darker, rebellious and “bad boy” he could be. For Jin, being as imperfect as possible, was what made the media adore him. For Kame, it was being as perfect as possible.
They were completely different, and yet, they had somehow, been attracted to each other, leading to this relationship. Normally, people in their professions, wouldn’t even consider saying more than a few polite words to each other.
So, Kame had accepted that they had to keep it a secret and instead of calling Jin by his given name as the singer had requested, at first, Kame had proceeded to tease Jin by calling him ‘J’, stating that “what if someone overheard him and made the connection?”. Now, despite Jin’s attempts to convince Kame to call him by his given name, Kame continued to call him ‘J’, just to see the look of frustration on Jin’s face as he gave up on his attempts once more.
It was just so much fun to tease the singer.
Kame looked up from his musings when the door of the room opened and Jin barrelled in, looking like he was in the middle of having a fit. His eyes rested on Kame, who sat up on the couch and smiled at his boyfriend.
Jin glared at Kame, and the younger man looked at him in confusion.
“J?”
“You” Jin glowered.
“Me?”
“Yes. You. You…you…” Jin was waving his hands around, apparently unable to find a word to describe Kame. The younger man looked at him in concern. He stood up and walked over to Jin, putting a hand on Jin’s shoulder, “Are you okay?”
“Am I okay? Am I okay? No, I’m freaking not okay!” Jin yelled, running a hand through his hair and glaring accusingly at Kame, “How could you?”
“Huh?”
Kame didn’t think he had done anything to make Jin mad recently, so naturally he was very confused.
“You…you exhibitionist!” Jin yelled, “How could you Kazuya?”
“…J?...what?”
“You. This!” Jin broke off with a strangled, garbled scream of frustration and thrust his phone into Kame’s face. Kame blinked, taking the phone and he found a picture of a billboard.
More precisely, a picture of himself on a billboard.
Kame suddenly smiled, realizing what Jin was freaking out about. He looked from the seething Jin to the picture of himself; wearing only a pair of boxers, he was lying on his side with his arm propped up, head resting in his hand. He was looking up, staring unblinkingly with an inviting look in his eyes. The boxers were riding just a little low, and he had a small pout tugging at his lips. The shadows that were glaringly obvious in the black and white picture just made everything much more intense.
“What’s wrong with that?” he asked innocently, “What’s wrong with modelling for Calvin Klein?”
“What’s wrong - Calvin Klein UNDERWEAR!” Jin pointed at the picture, “You, in your underwear, on a freaking HUGE billboard in Tokyo - and who knows where else - for everyone to see! You don’t see what’s wrong with that?!”
Kame crossed his arms, “You had a tattoo on your cheek. What’s wrong with me posing in my boxers for the entire nation to see on a billboard when you had a tattoo?”
“That tattoo was temporary!”
Kame jutted his chin out defiantly, “So is the billboard”
Jin spluttered.
“Besides” Kame continued, “It’s not like I’m the first person to do something like this. I mean, did you see those An-An magazine shoots with Yamapi?” he grinned, “He was totally naked…”
Jin’s eyes widened, “You are not going to do a naked photo shoot!” he grabbed Kame’s arm and refused to let go, “I won’t let you! That Yamapi is a bad influence on you! I don’t care if he’s your friend; he’s a bad influence”
“Says the one with three piercings in one ear and two in the other ear, who often wears eyeliner and puts fake tattoos on his cheek with liquid eyeliner” Kame muttered under his breath.
He looked up to see Jin’s darkening expression. The older man’s arms were crossed angrily.
This caused Kame to let out a sudden laugh and he put a hand on Jin’s cheek, “You, J, are way too possessive and protective” he paused to add, “And you’re way too easy to tease”
Jin scowled, but it disappeared from his face when Kame put his head on Jin’s shoulder, embracing the older man, “Don’t ever change”
“You’re mine” Jin whispered as he wrapped his arms around Kame, pulling him closer to him.
“That will never change” Kame said, before he leaned up to kiss Jin.
* * *
It had taken Jin another fifteen minutes before he calmed down enough about the billboard for Kame to drag him over to the couch, where they sat there, side by side, just basking in the comfort of each other’s arms. Jin’s arm was wrapped tightly around Kame’s waist and the younger man smiled up at him with one of his beaming smiles that made Jin melt just a little and the arm tighten around Kame even more.
“I have a question for you” Kame started with a mischievous little grin on his face.
Jin looked warily at that mischievous look but he nodded, “Yes?”
“…exactly…why did you decide to take a picture of the billboard?” Kame asked, holding up Jin’s cell phone with amusement, “And such a good angle too…” he mused.
Jin mumbled something incoherent.
“What was that?” Kame asked, wrapping his arms around Jin’s shoulder, wrists cross-crossing behind Jin’s neck, “I couldn’t hear you~” he teased.
Jin flushed in embarrassment as he answered, “I…may have found a perfect angle to take the picture from” he muttered, looking down at his hands, “…a few cars may have honked at me for blocking the road” he ducked his head, refusing to look into Kame’s eyes - Kame’s eyes that he knew, just knew, were laughing at him.
Sure enough, Kame’s laughter reached his ears and despite his growing embarrassment, Jin couldn’t help but smile at Kame, watching as the younger man’s eyes sparkled with mirth, and it was a few seconds later that, still grinning, Kame leaned his head on Jin’s shoulder, “Oh, J~” he chuckled.
Jin pouted, “I told you” he said determinedly knowing that he had to at least try once a day, “We’re not in public so you can call me Jin”
“But I like using J” Kame pouted back, “I want to use J”
“But I want to hear you call me Jin” he returned.
“People don’t get to choose their nicknames~” Kame sang out.
Jin groaned, “How am I ever going to convince you to call me Jin?”
“Well, of course, that’s when we no longer have to hide that we’re dating” Kame said cheerfully, “But since you don’t want that, I’ll keep calling you J”
Jin sulked, “So if I decide to stop hiding…us…you’ll call me Jin?”
“Maybe” Kame allowed.
“Kame!”
“I have a better question” Kame grinned, “You still haven’t told me why you decided to take a picture - I mean, if you hadn’t stopped to take a picture, you would have gotten here much faster to freak out about the billboard”
“I was not freaking out” Jin argued.
“Yes you were”
“No I wasn’t”
“You were”
“No - damn it, fine! And I wanted a half-naked picture of you, alright?” he paused, “I mean…a giant half-naked picture of you…”
“J, don’t even think about trying to steal a billboard” Kame said immediately, and calmly, knowing what Jin was thinking when the older man had trailed off.
Jin pouted and then he brightened as he wrapped an arm around Kame’s shoulders, “Well” he said indignantly, “I don’t need a billboard - I have the real thing” he told Kame plainly as though commenting about the weather. The line made Kame pause and blush just a little.
“Yes you do” he said softly, “Don’t you ever forget that”
Jin smiled happily as he put his arms around Kame once more, and kissed him, “I would never forget anything about you” Jin promised, “It’s impossible”
Kame laughed just a little, the blush rising in his cheeks as he put his head on Jin’s chest, “So the rocker, J, can be sweet. I wonder what your fans would say if they knew that you can be so sweet to me” he murmured teasingly.
Jin flushed as he muttered something under his breath about getting a glass of water, leaving Kame looking amused and shaking his head at Jin’s retreating back and the embarrassed look Jin had on his face when he returned.
If Jin knew just what would be happening in a few weeks, he might not have stood up at all; he might have taken that chance to hold Kame tighter to him, to say sweeter words to the younger man; he might have watched Kame more carefully; he might have seen the quickly hidden sad look in the younger man’s eyes when Jin got up and left him alone at the one comment about his fans knowing about them; he might have cherished the model who loved him so much, just a little more.
But Jin couldn’t see the future, and he certainly hadn’t expected something like this.
* * *
It was eleven after nine.
Jin watched as the long hand on the clock ticked the seconds away.
Twelve after nine.
Thirteen after nine.
The frown on his face deepened with every time the long hand of the clock moved. He looked expectantly at the front door of Kame’s apartment, where he had escaped to after practice that day had let out. He had almost been dragged out to go drinking with the rest of the band, but he had quickly escaped, thinking that Kame should be home already, and Kame might even have been having dinner so Jin could sneak a bite of his boyfriend’s meal. Considering the extent of Jin’s culinary skills involved making canned soup and instant noodles, Jin was always happy to go to Kame’s place to have a bite of food. Kame, always expecting Jin, would make extra.
Jin put his hands in his arms, the frown on his face growing as he watched the clock. Kame was really late - he was supposed to have gotten home an hour and a half ago. Jin’s hand kept twitching toward his cell phone but every time he looked at the welcome screen, there were no new messages or anything from Kame. Even the five texts that Jin had sent Kame had gone unanswered.
Jin was worried.
It wasn’t like Kame to be this late without a reason, and without even calling first. Kame knew that Jin would always be at his apartment around this time.
Jin perked up, eyes darting to the door when he heard the sound of the front door opening.
“Kazuya!” he cried in relief as he walked over to where Kame was standing, cheeks turned red from the cold wind blowing outside. He was shivering lightly, and staring at Jin.
“Kazuya” Jin said in surprise as he wrapped his arms around Kame, “You’re freezing” he brought Kame’s hands up to his lips and breathed on them, looking up with a smile and a soft expression at Kame, who was still staring at Jin, as if surprised that the older man was still here.
“You should have worn a warmer jacket” Jin said as he kept warming Kame up. He led Kame over to the younger man’s couch and sat him down, and wrapped his arm around Kame’s shoulder tightly as he leaned over to kiss Kame. The younger man kissed back and when they parted, Kame gave Jin a small smile, “Were you waiting for me?” he asked quietly and to Jin, Kame’s voice sounded a bit shaky. The older man quickly waved it off, however, as it had been freezing outside.
“Yes” Jin jutted his lip out, “You’re late, Kazu-chan”
Kame laughed softly, putting his head on Jin’s chest, “I’m sorry” he said, “My manager needed to talk to me - it took a while”
Jin frowned, “For an hour and a half? What happened? You’re like…” he waved his arms to emphasize his point, “The perfect guy in people’s eyes - you never make such a big mistake that you need to be talked to for an hour and a half! Did something bad happen?” he asked worriedly.
Kame was silent for a moment before shaking head, “It’s something good for my career” he said, shooting a bright, reassuring smile at Jin, “Besides, shouldn't you be worrying more about your next show instead of if I’ve gotten in trouble?” he teased.
Jin crossed his arms, “I’m just worried” he muttered, “You’re never late!”
“Sorry, sorry” Kame repeated with a little smile playing on his lips as he looked at his boyfriend. He leaned up to kiss the older man and Jin immediately reacted, circling his arms around Kame’s waist. He pulled Kame closer in as he leaned backwards, until Kame was practically lying on top of Jin while they kissed. After a moment, Kame drew away and he lifted his head with a bright smile at Jin, “I think you missed me today~” he sang out.
Jin grinned, “I did, I did” he agreed as he brushed a strand of Kame’s hair out of his eyes. It was futile as the strand of hair fell back over those brown eyes again.
Kame adopted a hurt look, but Jin could clearly see the teasing look in his eyes, “Are you saying that you didn’t miss me yesterday?”
Jin shook his head with a smile, laughing along with Kame, “I miss you every day” he declared, “Because you can’t be my side all the time” he pouted just a little.
A silence settled over them.
“Kazu-chan?” Jin asked, sensing the sudden change of mood in the room, as Kame stared down at Jin with a look in his eyes that the older man had not seen before.
“What if I could?” Kame asked pensively, staring into Jin’s eyes as he asked the question that made Jin freeze and his breath hitch. The look in Kame’s eyes was intense, those brown eyes practically shining as they stayed fixed unblinkingly on Jin, “What if…” he shook his head.
“Kazuya?” Jin asked again, reaching up to touch Kame’s cheek lightly, “Is something wrong?”
Kame looked at Jin for a moment before letting his eyes trail down to the black top that Jin wore and he kept his eyes trained away from Jin’s face as he asked, “…would you ever want to make our relationship…well, not secret?” he asked after a moment.
Jin started at the question, his eyes widening. He stared at Kame for a long moment, watching as Kame lifted his head, to look at Jin expectantly for the answer. Jin almost felt like he couldn’t breathe for a moment as Kame’s eyes with that unreadable emotion stared at him. There were always moments like this - when Kame asked Jin if it was better to make their relationship known, to stop the hiding and the secret. Jin knew he was sometimes a little uncomfortable with hiding all this, but Jin always felt that, right now, their relationship was perfect. He didn’t want anything to change.
He just wrapped his arms around Kame’s waist, pulling the younger man back down and embracing him again, “…not right now. I’m happy to not have people poking at our relationship” Jin said seriously as he looked at Kame, “I don’t need anyone else to know. I’m happy like this with you” he said softly in Kame’s ear, “You are too right?”
He smirked when Kame just nodded slowly and kept his head on Jin’s chest, “Why change anything?” he asked, “We’re happy and that’s what’s important, okay?”
Kame was silent for a moment before he nodded and moved up to kiss Jin again, “Okay” he said before his lips touched Jin’s, and the two men were distracted for quite a while.
