I had such a fabulous time last night. When I take inventory of all the fantastic people in my life (in Verm and elsewhere), I feel like such a jerk for ever feeling sorry for myself

Um...I hate to bring it up but I'm just curious. You graduated......why are you still in V-Town? Better yet, why haven't you visited me in SF? We could go to the Castro (aka Where Fag Hags Go When They Die)....
I'm taking a year to study with Mitchell and get my audition package in order. I stayed in Verm in particular because a) Mitchell is here and b)I have jobs in Vermillion and Yankton (the church job, Mount Marty, and my private studio). Those jobs are paying for the auditions I plan to do in the next few months. I needed a year to get things in order after the rush of grad school. Mitchell suggested it would be a good idea before doing the Young Artist thing.
And I haven't visited you in SF yet because I am po' and can't take the time off yet! I hope to sometime in the next year or so!
I just responded to the e-mail a few days ago. I wrote to the three of them to tell them what I've been up to, and then I just wrote about the things I liked about the program (how my teaching has improved, the performance opportunites, the Italian experience, the wide variety of literature, the excellent faculty, and, of course, you, Patrick, and Mel!). It wasn't particularly eloquent, just more of a list of things I thought worked well.
I still need to call you. I haven't had a block of time in which to do it yet. This weekend?
