Today has been a good good day. I haven't had one of these days in a long time and I think that I really needed it to help motivate me. I started the day off with a japanese test. I feel like I did a decent job, at least a B (I'm hoping) and got my grade for the semester so far. I thought it would have been a high C. Nope. 86.6!!!! I'm excited. It

Drawing was not so good. For some reason my professor picks on my pieces a lot more than others. It's clear that I can draw so he attacks the way I've posed the people in my pieces. I know that my compositions could use more work, but the way he always critisizes my work seems a little extreme, especially compared to how much this one guy SUCKS and he doesn't really bother with him. My mom would say that my prof sees more potential in my and pushes me harder. I could see that...but part of me is convinced that he's just being an ass.

I'd say your mother is correct. My professors do that to me all the time and it's annoying, but after meeting with a few of them and talking to them about it, that potential thing is what's true. They pretty much see that you are there for more than just a GPA and they want to make sure you get what you paid for.
