Times had been busy at the Luna University again. There had been an arrival of new students over the past few weeks and so she had been in at all possible hours to welcome them as head of the Archeology department. To say the Doctor was elated would be an understatement. He had just rushed from River, and here he was to see her again. He could barely stand still.

The TARDIS arrived outside River's house, parking in its usual spot in the garden. He ran out of the doors like it was on fire, and rushed around the house to the front door. With as much enthusiasm as each movement, he knocked the door.

At the knock to the door, River glanced up, hesitating for a moment before she knew she couldn't very well lay here and ignore it. Sighing quietly to herself, she saved her page in the magazine before she shuffled off the bed. She wrapped her dressing gown tighter around her middle to give herself some modesty, tightening the sash at her waist before she set off downstairs.

She decided to give herself a chance to ignore it by activating the door comm to see the footage of the person stood on her doorstep. The screen flickered to life to reveal the Doctor, the image glowing gently in the darkened hallway. Watching his antsy wait on her doorstep made her gently smile and she turned to the door to unlock it and pull it open.

"And what sort of time do you call this?" she asked, holding the door with one hand and setting the other upon her cocked hip. She smiled at him flirtatiously as she remarked not only of the late hour, but the fact she was here in her dressing gown and all alone.

If it were at all possible, when the door opened the Doctor's smile widened.

"Wifey!" he said, opening his arms to her.

He took a step up into the house, and a little unlike himself, he immediately reached up and cupped his hand around her face, pressing a deep kiss to her lips.

"There," he said as he pulled back, his grin turning a little cheeky, "never say I don't take your breath away."

River's eyebrows raised at the Doctor's jubilant response, her arms going out to accept him embrace, only to find herself being treated to a significantly passionate kiss. She blinked gently as she was stolen up in his embrace, her eyes eventually falling shut when she relaxed into the kiss. When he pulled away, she couldn't help but smile widely, feeling far more cheerful than she had before he arrived.

"And what's all this in aid of?" she asked playfully. "What's going on?"
