Oh, look, it's a decent temperature again.

You know, I'm getting a bit sick of asking this, but what did I miss this time?

A lot of death. Fun fun fun.

Axel bit the dust, for one. I don't know if you were around for that.

No, I died the second day after he turned up the heat the second time. Seriously, I just woke up and the sun was in the sky and I couldn't breath, move, or think.

Nice.

Yeah, uh, Axel died just before the temperature started to drop. Suicide. If you see him before I do, which you almost certainly will, tell him from me that he's an idiot, ok?

Depends on his reasons. Knowing him, he had one.

Welcome back, Cerceus. The temperature has returned to normal and the restorative field is once more in effect.

I suffered extensive damage to my biological surfaces due to prolonged exposure to the increased temperatures, but it has repaired itself now. I was not in any danger.

Hans survived, as well.

I didn't think your chasis was in any danger, I know what kind of heat you can withstand. I'm glad you didn't suffer, though.

Hile, sai Tethys. Enjoy your trip to the land of the even-deader?

Did I shoot Alain, yes or no? [He says this very quickly, glaring at the crow][/i]

[He's taken aback by that question, especially so soon after a joke]

Say what?

[Slowly and patiently, as though he's talking to a child]

When I asked you what happened to Alain, you lied and said you didn't know. I didn't say anything, because it didn't seem worth it at the time, and I wasn't sure I wanted to know. Then the Reaper told me that I had shot my best friend. I didn't believe him, because I wouldn't do that, or I thought I wouldn't - then I thought about it, and about what you said. I knew he couldn't mean Susan, because she was already dead, and I sure as hell didn't kill her. And you said Roland moved on after I died, so it couldn't have been him either. So that left Jamie or Alain.

It's a simple question, sai Tethys. Did I shoot Alain?

The truth, if it do ya fine.

I don't know. That IS the truth...

................................. It could have been you OR Roland, they never said specifically.... it's not like you could tell one bullet from another anyway.

It was a mistake. He was coming back to camp when you were about to go into battle. He didn't announce himself. The two of you just sort of... reacted.

I died, thanks for asking. You know, fish-people bake just as well as anything else when you put them into an open-air oven.

So dying doesn't even get you out of here? That's pretty sick. I'd say, 'at least you're back' but I guess that's not much to celebrate considering the circumstances.

Nope, it sure doesn't. I've died... fuck, three times now. Hah. And obviously I'm still here.

While I'm not necessarily glad to be back HERE, I am glad to be back though. Dying's restful and all, but my friends are here.
