Cy very slowly, very carefully, tapped the short nail through the stretched hide and into the wood beneath it. He tapped a little more firmly when it was all the way down, driving the edges of the flat into the wood so it would hold, then very carefully measured and stretched the hide to the site of the next nail. His neck, though free of pain, was very stiff - he'd been doing this for nearly an hour. But he was almost done, and when he was finished, he'd have drums! Hooray! They'd be fun at Zuko's birthday party... dancing to drums was much more fun than dancing to a harp for a celebratory occasion.
