Thank you, that means a lot coming from an accomplished writer such as yourself.
Incidentally, I highly recommend his essay "The Doors of Perception" - he has a very conversational style that's easy to read, somewhat poetic and still intelligent, and he makes some very interesting observations in it.
God DAMN! This could be a chapter out of someone's thesis. It's positively brillant and imaginatively entertaining. You should submit this somewhere. I'm serious! Did you just write this this afternoon? Unbelievable- I absolutely love it.
I think I glowed for an hour straight after this. Thank you. :)
I actually wrote it after our conversation - we briefly discussed how much of our perceptions of the world and even our beliefs can be beyond our control, and that just stimulated some other thoughts I was having after reading Huxley and this awesome book called "Gut Symmetries" by Jeannette Winterson. Oh, and I was extremely caffeinated. But I really appreciate your comment, I thought this turned out well and it kind of renewed my faith in writing.
Oh so well indeed. I wish I know more about the kind of publications that might publish this piece, but it strikes me that it may be just the right length for a society that desperately needs enlightenment but lacks the attention span for lengthier fare. When you talk to your advisors again you may want to ask about that kind of thing.
Like the write this is beautiful. Truth is beauty and Beauty truth. the light you taste and the colors you hear are not to be hidden but loved by all if you will but let us in to experience them with you..
Thank you for letting us in to glimpse what you can experience..

I'll check that out. Does it matter that I don't really like "The Doors"?
