So I am very bored today. And today is the day I steal things from friends' journals rather than thinking of something to write on my own. But hey, what are friends for, right?? Ha!
My senior year in high school, my teacher was so dumb. I didn't read any of the books I was supposed to, and she thought i was brilliant! For each book we were assigned to read, the test was to write a one-page essay about it. That was it. Sometimes I wouldn't even get a copy of the book until that morning because we could use the book on the "test." I'd read the back of the book, maybe a bit at the beginning and end, and the "about the author" section, and make up some bullcrap about how the author had some particular life experience that led him/her to write the book. My teacher was so impressed by my tremendous insight. You had to be a real idiot to not make an A in her class.
Not that I'm proud of the fact I didn't read those books like I was supposed to... I could just get away with not reading them, so I did!
Ah yes, Adams.... He is definitely one of my influences as a writer (along with Woolf, O'Connor, and Lewis). I'm going to write some pretty screwed-up stuff one of these days....
I've not written many stories in a long time... None in over a year. The one I'm most proud of is about an apocolypse of sorts. I should re-write it the way I intended it to be originally one of these days...
We were given a word limit on it of 2000 words. And when I found that I'd written 4000 and only half way through the intro, I cut the story there, and re-wrote it.
Anywho...
My stuff was all externally marked (as is the English system)
Haven't written any essays either in a while...
That's why I'm taking up Film studies next year (against the protestations of all my teachers) But I've already had to ditch the subject once. So I'm not going to do it again!

Scored me A* on it because of my interpretations on Simon...
