I didn't read them until graduate school. :) I pick them up, but my whole household shares them now that I've corrupted my daughter (she gets some of her own sometimes after she earns some money and saves up). This particular one fascinated my classes of teenagers. The announcement was made as we we studying the history and basics of Islam, and after we looked at examples of diversity in comics as kids hung out in my room at lunch, they asked if I could bring in copies if it was good. So I got two copies today, and will bring one to school for kids to read/share. Kamala may be Pakistani-American, but my 90% Latino group sees someone who resembles themselves and is from an immigrant family, a teen who is caught between traditional culture and wanting to fit in and be indepemdent.

How interesting! I haven't opened a comic book since the 1960s.
