This is an interesting question. I would dearly love to give up the landline - but need it for the Internet - well actually, I don't NEED it for the Internet, its just that its the only reason I have it. If I got myself a dongle, I daresay I wouldn't have a landline at all.  Its also very interesting to see peoples reactions when you say (as I did

I have a landline for my broadband and pay the basic £11 per month but I make and receive almost all my calls on my mobile. I get free calls most of the time. I occasionally make a call on the landline if the mobile is going to be a high charge peak time call to a non geographic number.

LOL - the sunshine has frazzled my brain, so my first thought was (when you said calls to a non-geographic number) was, does she make calls to Outer Space then?!!

And we are with BT - current bill is £53, of which actual phone calls make up £1.50 (wtf??!!)
