I woke up this morning thinking about Tuesday's election and the gay marriage Amendment, and I kind of came to my own conclusions on it

We, as friends and citizens of a large city, and prone to an affluent or artistic culture, live in a socially Liberal bubble.
That's absolutely the point i was trying to illustrate on Tuesday by talking about the emails i sent my relatives. A co-worker of mine was stunned that the amendment passed, saying "i didn't talk to a single person who said they'd vote yes," and all i could think was, "well, who are you talking to outside of Milwaukee or Madison?"
I'm still bitter about it passing, but i agree that in a decade or two, it'll be laughed into repeal like prohibition was. Until then, we can look forward to some SEXXXY speakeasys. Oooooooh yeah.
I voted no.... not for the reasons that you and probably everyone else we know voted no for.
I voted no because it was pointless to vote yes. the amendment will never actually go into effect. and if by chance someday it will, within years it'll get over-turned anyways. as soon as our generation or the next generation comes into goverment type power, it'll get over-turned no-matter what.
just to clear this up, I would have voted no anyways, I had no intentions of voting yes.
I think the older generations are still stuck/hung up on that Man/Woman dealy-o. However I've noticed that our generation and younger (even outside of our sub-culture) that people are generally more socially aware than our grandparents. I mean, I still hear my grandparents refer to "african american's" as "Coloreds".... so yeah.... I dunno where I was going with this...
