tricky question, actually. I connect pausfågel to the Swedish radio that broadcasted birds singing as way to take a break between programs. You can see more here http://sverigesradio.se/sida/default.aspx?programid=3275 But it is also an expression that you can use in many ways to imply on a break or rest.... hard to explain, but very much part of the Swedish "soul" ))))
