Ok,

Guys, E3 is a PR fest. Project Natal, yes it's cool but the gameplay trailer hitting the internets is a pre-rendered trailer. The on stage tricks? They're ON STAGE TRICKS ( Read more... )

No kidding it's pre-rendered but I'm still optimistic. Depth-sensing is what computer vision NEEDS! (Though, admittedly, that kind of approximated stuff is always shaky...)

There is no fucking way it's going to be that good. For one - voice recognition is nowhere near that good.

Secondly... full body mocap? From a single camera? BULLSHIT.

From what I've seen, it's at least 2 cameras, possibly with additional sensors as well.

The pre-rendered trailer is hilarious, although a couple of their concepts have interesting merit.

Reports from the E3 floor is that the Milo demo is still quite rough, yet still scarily impressive.

Personally, I think it does have a lot of potential, although more in complementing existing controllers. For example, Mass Effect could use the controller as per normal, but have fully interactive dialog scenes with NPCs.

project natal. Or how to overtax an already overtaxed heap of shit that tends to cook its self without provocation under normal use.
P.S. Untill they fix the fundamental hardware design flaws in the 360, this is a pure pipe dream. I had expected micorsoft to announce a 360 rebuild that looks dumpier but is not designed to rip its self apart under normal use. guess i hoped in vain huh?

I got believe that they got Molneax to plug this. Don't they read the Internet? Aren't they aware of the irony of having him promote anything?
