Well, Here's the damage,

Junglist, one of the founding members of Good Game was sent off without even a mention, replaced with new host Hex last monday. Ignoring the Comic Sans, when you're doing a handoff you tend to, you know, HAND OFF ( Read more... )

Gotta tell you, if someone was going to push a rival gaming show on another network, now would be the time to do it.

Well SBS would be the only station I could see doing it. Ten has CyberShak and 9 and 7 wouldn't have a clue.

Yeah SBS would be my pick too.

Particularly since they just lost Top Gear, and what the genre needs is a videogames review show somewhere between David and Margaret and Top Gear.

SBS should start a new show which is just Margaret driving fast cars with David navigating. The Movie Show - Rally Edition! That would be epic and win.

But yes, SBS would be ripe for a well produced entertaining video games show. Combine it with some anime afterwards and you have yourself a night!

You don't need massive multi episode seasons, just short runs done multiple times a year. Bugger it, put it in a video game store, get a crowd and do sections in live set (ripping TG off) and be very careful about your presenters.

They're all about the couch ;) I didn't mind them and they're definitely the kind of thing I watch, but better production values and regularity would be required.

Found this post via Twitter - thanks for the coverage, I wasn't keen to brave the forum again.

This whole thing is genuinely sad. I've been a big fan of the show since it started, and I'm not sure I can be bothered making the effort to put all this aside and just enjoy the show again. Bullshit politics have ruined more than one good thing, and it's tiring.

Hey no probs, I did this cause I didn't just want to chuck people at that pit they call a forum. Spread it around, it's the internet after alls ;)

I watched it quite a lot to begin with and I remember the movement to remove that silly monkey puppet. They were doing ok and while I didn't agree with what they did and how they did it, they did work hard and produce easily the best Australian video gaming show. And instead of worrying about politics, just spend the half hour playing some vidjya games instead.

And if you're looking for a alternative go watch some Co-Op http://area5.tv/

Hasn't anyone heard of GameDamage? http://www.gamedamage.net/ It's a tv show that's already been picked up by a network and Yug (one of the hosts and creators) is a friend of junglist's... I suspect Jung may just find his way there

Gamedamage was mentioned, more specifically the idea from the forums, hence TLDR as he didn't read the post!

Summary: ABC Board decided they needed to change the demographic and I'm guessing budget, they kept the casual, pulled the girl from their ABC3 effort and fired Jung to make payroll.

Having flirted the edge of working for The Good Game in the past, I can assure you they didn't really have a production budget to start with.

So you're saying that they have been doing this show for five years for free?
