Player Name: Doggie
Character Name: Adeu Waltham (アデュー・ウォルサム)
Canon: Haou Taikei Ryu Knight (覇王大系リューナイト)
Role: Combatant

Background: In a world where a giant sword [ Earth Blade ] stands upon a land full of adventure and magic, a world called Earth Tear. This is the story of heroes who tirelessly journeyed across Earth Tear.

Earth Tear’s most brashest knight was only a little boy when a pirate found him as the apparent sole survivor of the town of Byfrost, taking him in as an adopted son. On the boy’s wrist was a brace etched the following words: "Please take of our son, Adeu Waltham."

Adeu Waltham aimed to become a great knight after watching one with a mecha defeat a creature when he was younger. During his training, an old great sage named Nuzzi, appeared and gave him a Mist Tarot card used to summon that same mecha - Zephyr, the Ryu Knight of fire. Nuzzi also told him to go to the Earth Blade to meet his destiny.

Adeu was fourteen when he met Princess Paffy of Phahuricia, Sarutobi the ninja, and Izumi the priest, who were also Ryu users. Adeu would travel along with them to the Earth Blade and formed a strong bonding towards them, especially Paffy (Sarutobi was difficult to get along with, however).

On their journey, Adeu and the others met with other Ryu Users such as Gesshin the samurai , Graches the warrior chief, and Katze the merchant. It was Graches who happened to give Adeu his first defeat as a knight-in-training and further inspired him to perfect himself. They also met up with some real troublemakers, notably the dark knight Galden *COUGH* Seabook Arno and his faithful subordinate the old lady Idoro. Galden was the typical, awesome white-haired rival with a Ryu called Dark Knight Steru and by manipulating others, he was determined in becoming the HAOU (ruling King of Kings) of Earth Tear. Sarutobi disliked him in particular because Galden murdered his family to seek out a treasure. Despite his power, Adeu and the others defeat him a few times.

The journey turned towards the search for Paffy’s parents after Phahuricia castle has been attacked by Galden. The parents possessed a powerful heirloom and had to flee in order to protect it. The Ryu group was told that they had to be transferred to a hidden place across the sea. With the help of Adeu’s adopted father, who dies during the travel against a monster, they went across the sea towards a place called the Spiral Shell Tower. It was there where Paffy’s parents explain the past of the Ryus, the fate of the owners, and the Spirit Stones (Nuzzi explains a bit more later):

Every one-thousand years, the mystic shield around Earth Tear weakens and evil monsters called Helldragons descend from space to come to take it. The Ryus were created by magical science to fight them and the Spirit Stones were used to unlock their full power, but they weren’t enough. So, a barrier was lifted to repel the dragons. With their fate revealed, Adeu and the others had to look for their own stones. Paffy was given hers by her parents, which was the heirloom. During the Ryu users visit to the Shell Tower, a Helldragon soldier appeared and wiped the floor with them. Galden appeared as well and absorbed the Helldragon’s power, becoming more powerful. Shell Tower began to sink, forcing the Ryu group and Paffy’s parents to retreat.

After trying to hold back Galden, Adeu was lost at sea and found by Nuzzi, who took him to the Temple of Time to become stronger. It was then Adeu learnt about his real parents. He had succeeded his father Raza Waltham Inoue Kazuhiko (o > < o) as the Zephyr pilot! Adeu was separated by his mother Meru from an explosion when Byfrost was attacked by Helldragons. Raza gave the Mist Tarot to Nuzzi and his last wish was to entrust Adeu with Zephyr.

In the Temple of Time, Adeu went through a test to attain a new power by fighting against a dragon. Believing in his friends and following his father’s will, Adeu refused to back down. He got a new sword and shield, since the old sword broke against Galden; the sword’s spirit stone adorned into it made Zephyr “class-change” into its new form - Ryu Paladin LORD ZEPHYR. Adeu remembered that it was the Ryu Paladin that he had saw as a child and that its pilot was his father. After defeating the dragon, he was reunited with his mother, who watched him during the challenge, and revealed him the truth.

Meanwhile, Adeu’s friends were considerably getting whooped by Galden. Adeu saved Paffy from falling to her death and fought Galden, nearly defeating him with Paladin Lord Zephyr. He was then transported inside Zephyr’s Mist Tarot, where he was given another challenge by an illusion of his father - fighting his friends. Unable to hurt them, he learned the true meaning of fighting, which is to put himself before his friends to attain power, and was taught Meteor Zapper. Adeu returns to save Paffy and the others and defeated Galden with his new technique.

Reenacting an ancient incident, the Helldragon Tribe has invaded once again. This is the story of heroes who protect Earth Tear from those invaders.

The Ryu team started to search for the rest of the Spirit Stones compatible for them in order to save Earth Tear. Along the way, they met with new friends such as Katze’s brother Hittel the true Ryu Gunner Derringer pilot, and powerful enemies like Commander Rigel and his flying Helldragon Ryu (Called Dooms) along the way! They even learn of Galden’s bloodline secret of being raised to serve the Helldragons and Idoro being a Helldragon. Galden before this had taken Sarutobi’s spirit stone within the kunai Yamikaze.

While looking for the city Eldogia and Shinebaram’s (Ryu of Gratches) Spirit stone, they encounter Idoro and Helldragon soldiers Gimel and Doan with Dooms. Galden fought Idoro as revenge for being used, but Idoro gets killed by her own partners. After the battle, Galden and Adeu end up stranded together and Adeu started to grow a fellowship towards the black knight, wanting him to join the Ryu users. While Adeu and the others fought the Dooms again, a white dragon appeared to save and transport them to Eldogia to get the last Spirit Stone. Galden went off on his own.

On Eldogia, White Dragon explained that class-changed Ryu can fly like the Dooms. Flight was important in order to reach the apex of the Earth blade, where the Helldragons plan to install a device that’ll diminish the mystic barrier. Adeu trained himself to fly by using the incantation “Byflaud” while facing off Gimel from before. The others would soon enough learn how to class change while fighting Rigel, doom soldier Adolia, and a temporarily controlled Galden.

At Earth Blade, the fleet of Helldragon General Issac Wakamoto Norio!’s arrived to destroy the Mystic Shield defense once the two moons align. Some of the Ryu riders lose their lives to prevent it: Gesshin (…such a good man) who defeated Rigel, Graches, Hittel and Katze when they tried to destroy the mother ship from the inside (Probably the saddest…). This was pretty hard on Adeu and he lost his will to fight briefly. He defeated Issac in his Doom and the mother ship, but the barrier destruction machine was about to dock on the Earth Blade’s summit. Also, the Helldragon Emperor arrived! So does Adeu’s” sister”, Nuzzi, and many others that Adeu met from his journey arrived to fight and destroy the docking area.

The machine was about to dock until Galden joined in with pretty Rune Knight Steru! He brought along the White Dragon of Eldogia and the class-changed Hayatemaru, Derringer and Shinebarim with their pilots alive. Apparently, they survived through White Dragon’s teleportation …Freakin’ corny Deus ex Machina! WHY?!?!.

After the anti-barrier machine took considerable damage, it goes under repair and the Emperor fights with his huge Doom…and, he’s super tough. Two groups split to distract the Emperor and destroy the device. Things prove difficult and Nuzzi revealed the secret to unlocking the Ryus’ unlimited power by combining all Spirit stones together.

The result makes Ryu Paladin gold, (see power glows!) and the Emperor and the machine are destroyed by a ram attack. The barrier’s power is restored fully and every ship passing through it is destroyed as well. After the battle, the Ryu users go their separate ways. Adeu resumed his journey to becoming a strong knight. He was alone for a while until Sarutobi, Paffy, and Izumi rejoined him. To quote Adeu, "it's just like when we first met!"

Personality: "An irreplaceable friend" to quote Gratches.

A glutton and almost an instantly reckless fourteen year old, Adeu is nicknamed the “Sonic Knight” due to his motor nerves and takes it to heart. He will give off the impression of the stereotypical "cute, but dumb and short-tempered justice boy" of 90s anime; he’d probably remind watchers of New Gen Lamune of a similar lively character and heroic destiny. Adeu is very expressive and naïve, offhand goofy, and not that smart. However, he has passion that burns when it comes to what he believes in. Adeu takes his training as a lawful knight seriously and hates to lose, especially against evil. He has shown this frustration with his lost against Graches, Rigel, and during the final fights where he was forced to retreat. Also, traveling together with Paffy and the others has taught him that the heart that loves to protect won’t make him lose. Like a majority of reckless heroes, he never gives up. Adeu puts his friends before him and that’s what makes him strong. Losing them, like in the final battles temporarily, he loses himself through fury or sadness. Also, Adeu is closest to Paffy and needless to say, is affected by her emotions and wouldn’t forgive anyone who hurts or puts her in harm’s way. Adeu even likes to persuade her whenever she’s down. So with his regard in chivalry, and his love of friends, Adeu carries that typical strong sense of justice within a hero.

Adeu’s signature line is "kishidou daidensouku Hi-toooooo tsu!" (騎士道 大原則ひとーつ!), or fansubbed as “Here’s one lesson from Ethos of Chivalry!” but that seems corny to yell. To further prove his value in chivalry, every time he says this line, Adeu states one of the Ethos, even during tension. He makes up even his own during a preview episode. Another signature line of Adeu is "Lend me your strength!" to Zephyr and his companions. Because a Ryu responds to the spirit of the rider, Adeu can connect to Zephyr and channel power into it against some of the worst situations.
