Title: Thank You for the Flowers
Rating: G
Word Count: 915
Disclaimer: Owning humans are illegal in most parts of the world (and I can't afford their fabulousness)
Pairings: Sakumoto
Summary: Meeting the parents...again.
Note 1: For nicefinalbeam 's a kiss, and all was said challenge.
Note 2: This is just so bad so I'll apologize in advance because I am like super stressed out and I'm taking it out on this poor fic. I'm breaking a whole bunch of my own personal taste rules with this so forgive me. m(_)m
Note 3: Now that I look back at this it would probably work better as Sakumiya, but I don't really care too much for that pairing.

Nothing terrified Sho more than the idea of meeting Jun's family. Yes, he has met them before when he taught young Jun his derivatives and integrals. But that was way before Sho started teaching him more...inappropriate things (and vice versa). Now he stood in front of the Matsumoto residence gate with a bag of cookies in one hand, flowers in the other and his boyfriend at his side trying to stop his giggle from being too loud (which would have been cute in any other situation).

"I am not nervous," Sho announced with this head facing forward and away from Jun.

"I'm sure you're not," Jun said with a wide, evil smile. He rang the doorbell and waited for someone to pick up the intercom.

"Yo!" a female voice said from the speaker.

"Nee-chan let us in."

"Who's this?" she teased.

"Stop kidding around, we're late already," Jun snapped while tapping his foot impatiently. Not that Jun had any right. After all, he spent twenty minutes looking for that black striped Brooks Brothers polo he just had to wear tonight.

"Eh~? Who is this? It can't be my adorable little brother who used to steal my shojo manga and my nail polish."

"Just let us in!"

The gates opened and Jun walked in front of Sho to the house door. Jun's older sister Sayuri already opened the door and pulled her younger brother into her bosom, probably to suffocate him and not a show of affection at all. She looked like a female version of Jun (which basically meant she was shorter, a little stouter, and had boobs) which scared Sho a little but then she grinned at him that reminded him of when his boyfriend had something sinister in mind and holy crap that was scarier.

"Um," he said in a small voice. "I brought tulips?"

Yup, that grin was crazy scary.

Sitting on the couch with the Matsumoto patriarch and matriarch sitting on the other couch was a little unnerving. Jun had his mother's neck and his father's eyebrows and the profoundness of the Matsumoto family was a little overwhelming. Just a little.

Matsumoto-mama left to take the lasagna out of the over in the kitchen with Sayuri and Jun leaving Jun's dad and Sho alone. Together.

"Do you still work in that chicken factory, Matsumoto-san?" asked Sho while clearing his throat.

"Yes," he replied with his stiff face.

"What is it exactly that you do again if you don't mind me asking?"

"I'm a chicken sexer."

"...I'm sorry?"

"A chicken sexer. I check the sex of chicks and put them on the right conveyor belt. I can vent and feather, but I prefer vent."

"Vent?"

"Yeah. You squeeze the feces out of the chick then you look up the anus..."

"Dinner is ready!" Jun's mother called from the kitchen. Thank God.

Dinner went fine for the most part since the Matsumoto family enjoyed a silent dinner. If there was talk it was mostly "pass the salt please" or "this is great, thanks Matsumoto-mama." Occasionally Sayuri would quip in and ask about their work, but should could read the atmosphere as easily as Jun and knew not to ask too much.

After dinner the family sat again on the couches with tea and beer, waiting for someone to say something.

"Sho's my boyfriend," Jun said plainly. Sho dribbled his drink a little and scrambled for the tissues Sayuri gave him.

Jun's father's eyebrows knitted the exact same way Jun's did. Sho knew that look.

"And?" Matsumoto-san yelled. "So what? What do you want me to do about it?"

"Accept it."

"And if I don't?"

"That's fine too."

He grumbled and took a swing of beer. Jun's mother took Jun's hand into hers and smiled gently.

"Jun-chan," she started in her soft Japanese housewife voice. "Your father, your sister, and I love you. You know that right? And we want you to be happy. So if Sho-san makes you happy that's fine with us. More than fine with us? Right father?"

He grumbled again.

"We all knew you were gay Junnosuke," said Sayuri, her father choking at little at the "gay" part. "We were just waiting for you to say something. Sho's cool and Arashi's cool so we support you okay?"

Jun got a little misty eyed, but Sho ignored it. He could always get him for that later.

Thank yous and hugs and promises to call and come back for New Years ("you too Sho-san!") were exchanged as Sho and Jun to his car. Once seated and buckled, gave Sho a firm kiss only to pull back quickly to put the car in gear.

"You owe me," said Sho. He pulled Jun's hands way from the wheel and took Jun's face into his hands. He opened his mouth a little and pressed his lips against Jun's. Sho took Jun's upper lip into his mouth and sucked on it before running his tongue along the bottom. He tasted like beer and lasagna and happiness and so much gratitude Sho had to breathe though his nose a little in awe.

When they finally pulled apart, they rested their foreheads together and Sho rubbed his thumps on the other man's perfect cheek bones. Jun looked up at him through his impossibly long eyelashes and gave him another quick kiss before putting his hands on the wheel again.

"Let's go. Nee-chan is probably watching from the window."

Sho saw through the corner of his eye one of the shades falling back into place.
