Room 208, Saturday afternoon

Jul 07, 2007 15:28

Tannim was finishing up his packing. He didn't remember buying a lot of stuff, but it seemed the amount of possessions he owned had doubled, at least, since he arrived.

[[OOC: Tannim's leaving today, so this is the goodbye post. He sent out emails to let people know he was leaving, so if you want to stop by, you can assume you received one.]]

Charlie was kind of bummed, for a lot of reasons, to get Tannim's e-mail. So on her lunch break, she made sure to go back to the dorms. "Hey, Tannim."

"Hey, Charlie," Tannim said. "How're you doing?"

"Not bad." She folded her arms and leaned against the doorway, watching him pack. "You really have to go? I mean, it seems like I just got here. I barely got to be friends with you. It's kind of too bad."

"I know," Tannim said regretfully. "But it's an internship with a car racing club." With a little something extra, as he learned in the personal interview. But he'd promised not to tell anyone about that yet.

Anders had been a little surprised to get an email from Tannim, considering he hadn't talked to Wyatt's roommate in forever, but he wasn't going to complain, and he kind of felt obligated to at least stop by and knock on the door.

"Come on in," Tannim called. The door was ajar.

"Hey, dude," Anders said, edging into the room. "I had this whole speech about how you're not allowed to leave, but it never works on anyone, so I thought I'd just say goodbye and good luck instead. Where are you headed?"

Tannim laughed. "It definitely wouldn't work. I got an internship with a car racing club down in Savannah."

Dean stopped by after he got the email. "So what's all this about leaving?"

"Hey," Tannim smiled. "I got an internship with a car racing club down in Savannah."

Dean seemed to be weighing that in his mind before speaking. "Yeah, okay, I guess that is a legit reason for leaving," he admitted grudgingly.

"Yeah," Tannim said, his smile broadening into a grin. "Should be very educational. And all that."

Turtle debated not showing up to see Tannim off, because she'd worried that she might just get upset and do something stupid like cry or kick him, but, in the long run of things, if anything, it was very important not to cut off good, potential connections for future networking. "Heading out, huh?" she asked, lamely, when she got the causeway.

[[ sorry for the late-ish tag; I was hiking around an island all day XD ]]

Tannim had been a little disappointed that he hadn't seen Turtle earlier that day, so he was glad to run into her on his way out. "Yeah," he said. "I got this awesome internship."

Turtle smiled a little, focusing a little more on her toe poking a hole into the ground (or, at least, making the motions of it, because, yeah, asphalt. Or whatever the causeway road was made out of). She certainly couldn't blame him for jumping on something like that. She kept her hands in her pocket. "Congratulations; things like that always look great on resumes, transcripts...What will you be working in?"

"Yeah, I suppose," Tannim said. He hadn't really thought about his transcripts. "I've got an internship in Savannah with a car racing club."

Chris got Tannim's email and headed down to say goodbye.

"Hey, man," he said, poking his head in the door. "Please tell me that email was some sort of joke."
