I plan on writing more extensively about my sejour in Mexico at some point in the future (i.e., when I get my blasted power cord), but for the moment, I must ask y'all's advice on a pressing matter: if they ask, should I tell my units that I go to bars and such? I'm leaning toward the strategic concession, a la Aaron before the vemmiting incident.

Well, knowing that my parents probably wouldn´t ask (my mom would just assume, and my dad would just be oblivious), I don´t have a perfectly concrete answer for you. My general suggestion would be to admit that you went to one or two as part of a group when you were meeting other students, and that you had a couple beers to justify taking up a seat.

Yes, the strategic concession I was learning toward was something along those lines. No-one knows if the units will ask, but I wished to be prepared. They didn't say anything beforehand, so it may not be a cause for cows.

Of course, your parents are a bit strange (runs in the Murphy/Gary family), but I can´t imagine that they´ll actually ask you. It´s not like it´s illegal for you to be drinking here.

I agree with Dan, though I think the part about that you had to drink to justify you being there is a tad un-necessary. I actually just feced the same dilemma. I might mention in before they qsk though, gives you the upperhand in the convo.
