It sucks that people have to do crazy things in order to get big sums of money from so-called charitable agencies. It sounds fun and all, but it's shitty that contests like this might be one's only hope of affording a college education.

well...yes, I agree, but thats not quite the situation here. first off, its a radio station thats doing the contest - nobody is saying that its a charitable organization. And emily could afford - and does afford - a college education without this. I mean, this will make it easier, no doubt, but she does ok without it too.

the only thing that pisses me off is that the army is sponsoring it. I mean, come on. but then again, most everything the army does pisses me off.
