AU Background: Doumeki was born and raised in a relatively important shrine in Hisumi, which his family has kept for many generations. Though the priests believed generally in peace, they were never averse to defending themselves or their loved ones from anything that might wish to harm them, especially when those dangers involve the spiritual realm. The specialty of this shrine has always been deeply connected to the spiritual realm - they handled burials, blessings, charms, and exorcism through use of a magical bow that was passed down from father to son, though it didn't always work for every member of the family, sometimes being passed to a daughter on rare occasions. Doumeki's grandfather, Haruka, was seen by people as a relatively strange and eccentric man, and unfounded rumours of him being half-youkai circulated for a while, due to his uncanny knowledge and understanding of magical creatures and ghosts.
When Doumeki was young, the shrine was frequently visited by a travelling shop run by Yuuko, who would stop in to get charms and items needed for her work, as well as to share stories and catch up with his grandfather. On one visit, she arrived with a boy she'd taken in, Watanuki Kimihiro, who Doumeki acquainted himself with and would try to play with when he was younger - though the two never really hit it off that well, there were bonds formed through shared experiences, and after a while Doumeki came to consider the slightly spastic boy a friend. Doumeki's grandfather passed on when he was 15 years old, after teaching him as much as he could of what he knew, and confirming that he was capable of using the bow passed down in the family.
Yuuko disappeared when Doumeki was 18 years old, and getting ready to succeed the shrine from his father, who was unable to weild the magical bow of the Doumeki family, and he realized Watanuki had been forced to take over the travelling shop. Doumeki had perceived something of Watanuki's half-youkai nature, and slowly come to realize that with the current world events, Watanuki's particular type of business could be very dangerous - Doumeki's particular abilities and protection were needed somewhere outside the shrine. And so, he's decided to set out after Watanuki, especially after very recently finding a Tengu journal left behind by a client of the shrine. Now it's just a matter of finding the idiot...

Title: n/a - that's not his type of thing
Fighting Style: Doumeki's primary fighting style would be the use of archery. He uses a magical weapon that's been passed down through generations at his family's shrine, and was most recently used by his grandfather, as his father was unable to wield it as anything but a normal bow and arrows. This special bow has the ability to allow the user to channel their own chi into invisible arrows, which can be used to seriously injure creatures of a magical or mystical nature (including ghosts). The bow will not allow this channeling to people who don't have the proper mindset or convictions, and only honours those with the right sort of spirituality.
