 [There's a young man with a bored expression wandering aimlessly outside the temple. Behind him waddles a capybara, which seems intent on following Seth wherever he goes. Ignoring the creature doesn't seem to be working, and Seth glances back over his shoulder to growl at his unwanted companion.]

[And who should be exiting the temple, tossing an apple easily in one hand, but Vertiline's elf. He stops for a moment, to watch these events unfolding in front of him, his head tilted, and an amused expression on his face.]

I do not believe the two of you speak the same language.

[Seth pauses to glance at Zevran. The elf is probably the last person he wants to see, though it's fair to say he doesn't like really want to talk to anyone.]

A dog can listen and learn. This thing can too.

[Or it will probably turn into slippers.]

[If he's aware of Seth's feelings, he doesn't show it. Instead, he simply keeps up the friendly smile, and easy stance.]

Ah, but some dogs can be exceptionally dim. I knew of one who never quite learned not to eat the herbs out of a certain pack... despite it knowing full well some of them contained deadly toxins.

People are stupid. Humans. Just the same as dogs. They either learn, or they don't. The ones that don't? Well.

[He bites off another piece of biltong, making no effort to eat with grace and keeping up his 'survivor' habits.]

[over by the cluster of artichokes, there's a young red-headed woman sitting on the front steps of one pod, playing tug-of-war with another capybara]

[The young woman catches his gaze and for a moment, Seth pauses to watch her. There is no humor in his expression, and again his brow creases.]

You look way too happy to be here, girlie.

[Dry tone is dry. Ain't he a charmer?]

[she looks up when she hears the voice, and seeing that it's directed at her, flashes him a grin]

If I were way too happy to be here, I'd look like this.

[and she exaggerates the grin all the way up to eleven]

[He says nothing, merely quirking an eyebrow as he watches the smile elevate.]

Point taken. Now you just look retarded.

[Seth shrugs and idly nudges his capybara with his foot.]
