Today I took my car in to the shop. I don't like being without a car. Well, they gave me a rental. So, I must be more explicit, it seems. I don't like being without my car. Beyond it being a memeber of the family, it's just plain better than the rental. I just can't feel the road in the rental. Why is it that so many car makers try to isolate

It refers to an artificial body part. An example would be the fake legs fitted for amputees.

I can't be without a car, either, especially my car. I feel uneasy driving other cars besides mine. I remember I once had to take my car in, and they gave me a rental car for a day, but I returned it as soon as my car was done, because the very next day, I had a lot of driving to do, and I couldn't do it with a car I wasn't used to.
