"Ryman." He nods his head in greeting, that usual dopey half-smile on his face. "What's up?"
Now that Chris gets a good look, he raises his eyebrows and the smile gets wider.

"Captain." He gets up. "Gotta talk to you about somethin'."
He looks down the hall, then back at Chris, then nods at the doorway -- whatever it is, he wants to discuss it privately.

That meant business, and Chris hadn't even got his first cup of coffee in yet. This was gonna be a long day.
Chris unlocks the door to his office and gestures for Ryman to go ahead first.
"Sure, I've got time."

There's a long note of silence between them.
"So... uh." His collar (properly buttoned, for once) seems to be chafing him a little. "This is probably gonna get us both into a heap of trouble, but I wanted to clear it with you first."
This whole having to refer to your friend as your superior thing? Blows.
"I wanted to ask you 'bout the... rules on frat-- fraterniz... well fuck, between two people who're you know, together, on the same team."
