(no subject)
today i was up at 8 am to study math. around 10:30 my brain was melting. i decided to listen to my saved messages. which i love and will share with you. (note, i don't delete messages unless they're whiny or from my mother, namely because no one leaves me messages)
i have a message from dave. from the summer before junior year. this message is from TWO AND A HALF YEARS AGO. and it's from when i'm still at brown and dave was getting ready to pretend to go to france. message contents: "kaaaaaatteeeee, it's daaaaaaaaavvee when are you coming hooooooooooooooommmeeee".... and then he whines for like 5 minutes and is like "sorry for this unnecessarily long message."
i have a message from shahan. it's from last winter break. so like A YEAR AGO, from that wonderful time, fuck that was a crazy break. and it's "hi kate, it's kate. me, and ben and lili and dave and wade want to come over and bake cookies. you're brother says you're at your grandparents and thats bullshit."
i also have one where it's just ben drooling into the phone. and the one when leah called when she won arts and it's like "KATE!!! sob I sob WON ARTS wheeze sob gasp hypventilation OH MY GOD CALL ME huh wheeze sob" which is how i think of leah, in general. as sobbing because she's so happy about something.
math exam will be over in 48 hours.
and then i don't know what i'm doing.
like, i never visualized living past it, so i have nooooooo plans.
i'll probably watch ALL OF KRAFTIN'S MOVIES.
which are SOOOO many and SOOOO good.
now back to the unifying theorem of calculus.
which, the very last line of my textbook, which says that i don't need to memorize any formulas if i just remember
The integral of a differential operator acting on a field over a region equals the sum of the field components appropriate to the operator over the boundary of the region.
it's my new zen koan. i'm going to sit and meditate on it until it makes sense, and then maybe just go back to memorizing green's and stoke's theorems.
