My (sort-of) Photo-Autobiography {BEWARE: UGLY faces!}

Sep 09, 2009 07:48

Oh hi! So after reading an entry on unlock's LJ, I get this idea that I should do a childhood photos and stuff too. I think I have a pretty normal life growing up, but some part of it seems just like those bad Asian drama's. XDD

Well, let's get started with my sort-of life journey. *EXCITEMENT*

**EXTREMELY IMAGE HEAVY ENTRY**

Look at that baby. My relatives were thinking, "are you sure it's a girl?" o.O

Bro, me, and sis. (still not convincing as a baby girl XD )
These photos were taken in our home in Chicago, where we were born. Not long after this, we were sent to Thailand to live with our relatives and mom and dad later joined us there too. :)

In Thailand:

My sister had this bike.

While I had this. *PWNED!* >8D

My relatives felt the need to dress me up in these super-girly-frilly dresses...and this was how it turned out. I was a confused little girl. D;

This was one of my fav school portraits. My face is like, "DO NOT WANT". XDD

Actually all of my school photos have EPIC faces like these... 8D

Us three again, in the same order as pic above. LOL

Most of my childhood pictures always have the same pattern, standing straight, no smiling. For some reason our dad doesn't like us doing any other kind of pose, or smiling in photos...

Here is my bro, trying really hard to stand still for a photo. XD Awww you. Notice a car with red license plate once again. Red license plates mean the car is new and had just been bought from a shop, so that makes the driver super cool and awesome with a new car! When some time passed, you would have to go get another license plate, it's yellow, a normal one.(boo not cool) My dad was a big fan of that red-plate fad. LOL

It's one of those rare times that we were allowed to smile goofily in photo. :D

Super awesome backdrop.

That is the most badass-est jacket you will ever see on an 8-year-old. The trio and our awesome Grandma.

Dude WTF. There is so many things wrong with this picture. (I was the one in pink shirt)

Me and sis trying to look "sexy" *fail* I even had those fake snap-on earrings.

Sis and bro with the puppy gang. <3 We had alot of puppies there because our home is an auto service shop and stray dogs always come here to live and we provide them food and stuff. In return, they watch over our shop at night(well, they might just sleep there, not actually "watch", but still..) Sadly, almost all of the puppies didn't survive and get to grow up. Most of them were crushed by the cars that go in and out of our shop. No one meant to kill them like that, but they were so small, and they like to wonder to places in the shop alot. ;__; We had like a family of 10 puppies, but only like two of them get to live long...

Oh-O that puppy's head is not safe. *NOMNOM*  I miss joo ;A;

A family portrait! *W*  Back then, my sis always does that with her lips when we were taking pictures. She said that her lips were too thick and ugly. Yeah right, look at mine! I was nicknamed, "Super Supreme Pizza" for a reason. I guess our family have a pretty unique look. Full-lips and dark skin don't equal beauty in the time and place we lived in. So, we were always the ugliest kids in our classes, no joke.

Me in my bedroom. It's so plain! My parents never bought us real toys. Those dolls you see in the back are freebies from photo studios and other shops that my parents frequented. That pig doll was my favorite, she's so squishy! She was a b-day present I got from our aunt.

Sis, bro, and me at a really cool temple in Ayutthaya(about 2 hours from Bangkok) It's Western and Eastern style in the same place! That beautiful castle is in the middle of a river. Pretty awesome.

I forgot where we took this picture...I think it was the same temple but different location.(me is on the far left)
Thinking back, Thailand really has many cool places for cosplay photos. @w@ I should go back for vacation and some awesome shoots some day...yeah, some day.

Suddenly, middle school! Look at how my height was compared to my buddies. Dx  Our gym uniform was not really that bad. LOL In Thai middle schools, you only have gym class on a certain days of the week, and on those days, you wear your gym uniform to school for the whole day. Gym days were my favorites because we get to wear pants!(hated the skirt!) But this photo was taken during a sport festival at our school. Students' classes are assigned a color, and they'd get a shirt of that color to wear during this period.(our regular gym shirt was purple, I think. Our school colors were ugly yellow and purple LOL)

My bro with the PRETTIEST girl in my class. Seriously, every guy liked her, even the seniors. Well that, except my bro coz he's gay. LOL jk jk

Now with the prettiest dude in my class.(or should I say dudette ?) He was one of the guy from our color's cheerleader squad. (my bro failed because he's with the GREEN people ffffttt ) My sis was in PINK team(or was it blue?)

Our team won gold metals in the junior basketball category. Go orange! (although only half of us actually KNOW how to play..)

Near the end of my 9th grade, our dad suddenly passed away due to a heart attack. No one was expecting it because he looked like the most healthiest guy ever. I think it was because he was working so hard in the shop everyday, and the heat also was terrible.(we had no AC in his office) In this pic, it's the funeral we held for him. It was more like a gathering of relatives, who would come together from different places in the country, and eat food together for about 7 days, and also make a merit to the monks. We don't cry during this event, we mostly cry in private. It was so sudden, I didn't know what was going on or how to act. The whole time, I was thinking "is our dad really gone...?"

This is the last day of the funeral, when we burned my dad's corpse into ashes and properly lead him to heaven. My bro became a monk for a day. It is believed that if a son became a monk(even for a short period), their parents will get alot of merits and can go to heaven.

After our dad passed away, our future plan changed greatly. We moved to live with my grandma at her house in the suburb. My sis were to go to America for a better future by my aunt's advice and help. And some year later, we would join her in America too.  Since we are American citizens anyway, it wasn't that hard to go to the US. The issue was the lack of money...orz

Mom said we should send her off with a smile. So we did. *laugh*

In USA (2002):

About a year later, me, bro and mom joined sis in the USA! Hooozaa  This pic was of our first time at Six Flags. We looked so out-of-place with how we dressed around all the cool kids there.. We looked pretty much just-off-the-boat...XD  Well, it's true. We just came to America again after our baby day many years ago. We were American citizens who couldn't speak English for shitz.(always fun times explaining the situation to people)  :D

It was my first time seeing snow! I made a snowman. <333 Snow is so magical and fluffy and full of sparkles rainbows. *A*

Then my bro started doing this...

Then this happened. (WTF-ness plz.)

Me and our super fabulous and awesome cousin, P' Tan, at the Loy Kratong festival. (LOL my face) P' Tan was Miss Thailand World in 1997, and also went on to be on the top 5 finalists of Miss World competition. Isn't she super amazing? This picture does not do her justice, she's way pretty.

During Miss World 1997. :)

I don't know why I was always pushed to participate in these beauty contests too...just because my cousin was Miss Thailand World, that doesn't mean I will automatically win beauty competition, okay? I was the third one from the left in this pic. The skirt was supposed to come down to our ankles, but mine was almost up to my knees. LOL Thai girls are tiny...o.O

Here is me with the winner of the beauty pageant. I looked like a freakin' trap. D: Unfortunately, Thai people believe classic beauty of super red lipsticks, red cheeks, and almost-white foundation is the way to go.

So I went to this audition for Prom model during high school just for fun, and I actually get picked! XD

From the Prom fashion show...  These pictures are kinda creepy..

From my sis's graduation day. We all went to the same high school, but my sis and bro were a year above me. My mom entered my sis and bro to their first school at the same time, so they've always been in the same grade even though my sis is older than bro by a year. So often times, I felt left out, since they can always share homework and finish school at the same time.

Me holding bro's diploma. We were amazed he actually graduated. XD
He was a big hit at the high school, everyone knew him. I think we were pretty well-known in that school since only like 1% of Asian students were there.

Hey, I was also one of the cool kids since I played sports. @w@ This is me and my basketball coach whom I had a huge crush on. Truthfully, I think it was more than just a crush, it might even had been love. He was one of a few people in this world who I think is just so dazzling.(like Obama *sparkles sparkles*)

Suddenly we met our long-lost brother! Whut? This is straight out of some bad Asian drama. LOL So, after our dad passed away, our mom revealed the secret she kept from us for years that we had another brother living in the US. Our dad was a popular guy, he has mom and another lady, and she was pregnant with his child.(about the same time my mom was having me) It's all too personal a reason, I'm not gonna say much here. But yeah, we met our half-brother, Deo, who is younger than me for like several months so that make him my little bro! <333 I'm not the youngest one anymore. Yayyy He is our pride and joy, he's so good-looking despise how all of us siblings look. XD
The way I and Deo met was awkward and kinda funny. LOL At the Thai temple, while I had no idea how this 'brother' of mine looked like, he just randomly walked up to me and say, "Hey, I'm your brother" with the biggest smile. I was like WHUT? Is that a new pick-up line? Hahaha Turned out my mom met him before hand and told him that I was gonna be at the temple with bro too. Sis couldn't make it that day, so they met later at our house in Chicago. ^^

Suddenly came my last year of high school. This was what I wore to my Prom, pretty fabulous right? @A@ My friends decided to both close their eyes in the only good full-body shot of me... Many people don't recognize me at the prom, they said I looked way different. Awww Some people asked "do you go to our high school?" I guess coz I looked really old there.

Ale and me, we are the MANLY girls of our basketball team. Tonight, we let the girly side shines. XD

Ahhh Graduation! I had this look of " oh shitz what the hell I'm gonna do now?" Hahaha I graduated as one of the honor students, we get to wear white and sit on stage. Pretty neat. 8)

The siblings reunited once again. yayyyy

That is about conclude the exciting part of my life journey. After high school, my life got boring and dull and I don't take much photos anymore. D; That is until I discovered about cosplay! Now life is filled with excitement again, and I met some really cool friends through this. I am thankful for that. ^^

Before we go, I just wanna show this picture:

My first ever crush! <333 (the taller one) He was so cute. @A@ I liked to tease him, I wanted him as my pet but he didn't want an owner like me. ;A; !!! LOL jk jk He was a pretty bad boy in our school. I only liked him at first because he looked kinda like Yuuji Kishi(Yazoo's voice from FF advent children movie), the red racer from the show, Carranger. XDD I had such a huge celebrity crush on the guy, I think I was like VERY obsessed.

In the series, his name is Jinnai Kyousuke. He was such a cutie! My ideal guy~ <333 This show was my most favorite sentai show because of its unique-ness and it's hilarious! You know, I have a dream of cosplaying the red racer some day. That would be so much WIN! I love that helmet design, I need to figure out how to make one though. XD

MANLY!

I can't find a clear picture of Red Racer's sword, but I like the design so much! Green Racer also has an awesome weapon. *A*

Oh well, I don't know when I will attempt this, so I will have it in my wishlist for now. It'd be so cool if I could cosplay this with a group. All my dreams would come true~ (LOL I don't have many big dreams, do I now..)
