[Dream] And despite how hard I tried...

Dream Effects: Pain and intense grief.
Warnings: Death by magic.

[ The scene shows a large castle corridor, bits of the masonry have been blown out to nothing but rubble and the tapestries are in shreds. Bodies litter the corridor here and there. Several corridors are passed as if the viewer is running perpendicular to them all. The camera stops on one corrider where a girl with long blond hair can be seen facing off with an older man in a long black cloak. No face can be seen but this is clearly an enemy.

"Luna!"

[ Harry's voice shouts out the girls name in warning as a spell is fired at her. The flash is a bright green, and for whatever reason the girl is unable to move as the spell hits her right in the stomach. It seems as if the flash goes straight through her and she crumples into a heap no longer alive. Harry cries out again, but someone grabs hold of his arm and pulls him away despite his cries to leave him and let him fight.

[ Several scenes flash by, the death of a red-headed boy, Fred, that of an older Remus and a woman with bright purple hair, the death of an older Sirius as he falls through an archway never to be seen again, the death of Snape, Dumbledore, and even Ron and Hermione. The scenes all flash by too quickly to really be seen, and a few of the scenes are merely fears not actual realities. As the montage ends, and the camera pans back to reveal row upon row of dead comrades. Harry stands with his back to the camera his shoulders shaking slightly. Hermione's voice echoes out to Harry wise as usual. ]

"You did what you could, Harry. No one blames you for their deaths. They didn't have to fight, they did it because it was the right thing to do."

[ Harry awakens with a gasp. Unshed tears are glistening in his eyes but he quickly blinks them away and sits up albeit a bit stiffly. ]

...We're back.
