I realize you're at a referral center, but... $3000???? for stones? Am I missing something? That seems excessive to me...

pretty much any surgery runs 2-3K or more, 4-5 if we are talking neuro-surgery.
visit 90
cbc/chem 130
radiographs 200
iv cath 40
iv fluids can't remember...48?
hospitalization per day 120
bioharard fee per day 15
surgery biohazard fee 25
procedure 5-600, don't remember
anesthesia, monitoring, per hour surgeon fee, per hour nurse fee, per hour assistant fee, etc etc etc...adds up to ALOT more

It is ridiculously expensive
they are cutting me ALOT of breaks.
So far my bill is only 1500

You're being charged for a 'visit???'

God, this sounds as stupid as Cornell was. The students didn't get any breaks at all. I had one friend in the class above me that did her own cat's dental, and she got charged for the entire thing.

RIDICULOUS.

Poor Shiro, that sucks. But damn, those are some serious vet bills. The 20% will go to good use at least.

Best of luck with getting the student loan rate changed! $1k/month is pretty ridiculous for anyone's budget.

Poor Shiro...and poor you! $3,000 is a large bill. I hope you get a nice refund check from the government to help pay for it. And I'll be happy to donate to the "Keep Shiro Healthy" fund :)
