[Soolin arranges her bedside table. There's the Somnifera, a double dose of that into the glass of whiskey, and some heavy sleeping tablets lying beside the glass--just in case. She mixes the liquid, warms the glass in her hands and sips from it.]

At least this way I won't be making stupid advances. A dose this strong should keep any visions away ( Read more... )

[Unbeknownst to Soolin, Tarrant has been outside the corridor during the heated discussion, and now he's more worried than ever. Soolin isn't herself. He thinks of going in, but decides it's better to leave her in peace. He doesn't want to end up on the wrong side of her gun.]

[Tarrant opens the door just a crack first, and peeks in to make sure he really *can* come in, and that Soolin isn't holding a gun or anything. At Soolin's pointed nod, he comes in and closes the door behind him. He doesn't know what to say.]

[Makes a dismissive gesture, yet her voice is drowsy and even smiling.]

I know. You heard it all.

[Gestures towards the whiskey on the nightstand.]

Help yourself. I couldn't sleep, so I might as well have some company anyway.

[As Tarrant fumbles with the whiskey, Soolin sits up, pushing the bedcovers aside. In her mind, Tarrant looks rather sweet, a clumsy boy despite his FSA training and attitude. She sighs, wearily, but with a glint in her eye. She picks up the vial of Somnifera.]

Tarrant? Are you tired?
