Damn my HP 48 GX, I took it out to do some meaningless calculations, turned it on only to hear beeping and the screen go blank. Turned it over and 2 batteries had corroded. How, I don't know, I use it almost every day and it had been fine

Hmm, between your HP and the Star Wars memorabilia, you seem to have this theme of corroded batteries running through your (our!) life lately. Perhaps it's time to recharge?
