The House Cast Says Goodbye
Mon., May. 21, 2012 4:00 PM PDT
Whether you're already prepared for the end or are sitting pretty in Denial Land, House is airing its last episode tonight. And it'll be just as emotional as you expect an eight-season send-off to be.
When the cast of House wrapped, they celebrated with a swanky party, which we totally crashed so we could get last goodbyes and finale scoop. Ready to reap the rewards of our carpet stalker ways? (OK, we were invited, but it's fun to pretend we're spies.)
Ready for lots of gushing about how much they'll miss each other? Here it comes:
"It is very sad," Hugh Laurie told us. "But it's one of those things. I mean, nothing goes on forever. We knew this would happen, from the first day we knew this would happen. So the fact that we've come this far and lasted this long is an amazing and joyous thing for which we should be extremely grateful, and are by the way. We are very grateful."
And this is where the tears started for us. And they kept flowing as we spoke to Robert Sean Leonard.
The show’s star looks back on eight years of medical curiosities. Plus, hear from creator David Shore and costar Robert Sean Leonard.
"It's been a great run. For me the most exciting part of this job has always been the people because the one thing I have missed in my life is any kind of continuity," Leonard said. "I'm a theater actor, so I'm used to jobs lasting about six months. So coming into work and seeing the same people for eight years has been very unique and for me enjoyable and I'll miss that."
OK, enough of the crying and let's get on with the scooping. Only one episode left, so for the last time: Here's what the cast told us about the series finale of House.
"I think fans are going to be really into it, not pleasantly surprised but surprised," Omar Epps teased. "They're going to be emotional, they're going to laugh. It's pretty incredible if I do say so myself."
Find out what is in the hopper for Omar Epps, Jesse Spencer and more after working together through eight seasons.
"I think fans will really like it," Leonard promised. "I was impressed, and David [Shore], the show's creator, took me aside a few months ago and told me the basic idea of it, and I think it's really apt the way the show wraps up. It suits what the show has been for eight years. I think it's a good way to go."
When we asked him if the series ends with House and Wilson hopefully walking off into the sunset, Leonard compared the two to another beloved pair. "There is something very Pooh and Piglet about that! I would say not quite. It's a surprise and we like it."
The series finale of House airs tonight on Fox.
How do you hope House ends its eight seasons? Is there any hope for House and Wilson? Check out our full interiews with the whole cast and creator David Shore above, then head to the comments to say your goodbyes!

Is Robert Sean Leonard Hanging Up His Stethoscope on House?
by JENNA MULLINS Wed., Feb. 9, 2011
"What's going on with Robert Sean Leonard and House?" "Is House canceled?" "Why aren't you reporting on RSL?" "What's happening?"
Take a deep breath, Wilson-House lovers. We got your frantic emails regarding the report that Robert might be leaving House to star on Broadway in Born Yesterday. And the reason it took us so long to get you some info is because (a) we were freaking out too, and (b) we wanted to find a reliable source to give us some answers. And we got one.
Brace yourself, House fans…
Robert isn't going anywhere!
We asked RSL's rep if his role in Born Yesterday would affect his shooting schedule on House, and he told us exclusively: "No episodes will be missed. Production has worked it all out." The show doesn't officially open until April 24, right around the time House will wrap up it's seventh season. So don't expect Dr. Wilson to be missing from those all important episodes.
Let's all heave that giant sigh of relief together. Feels good, doesn't it? You fans had every right to freak out. The House-Wilson relationship is one of the best parts of the FOX drama, so we're happy to be able to report that there won't be any hiccups in their bromance. At least, not due to RSL kicking ass onstage. We can't promise, however, that House and Wilson won't face other issues.
Because when it comes to those two, it's always something, right?
Happy to hear that Robert is sticking around? We hope so, because we're throwing a little party over here! Won't you join us in the comments?

Favorite Characters of 2007
7. Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) on House: “He often gets the least attention on a show full of outlandish characters and even more outlandish weekly medical cases. But Leonard is the show’s calm eye in the center of a very cranky storm. Leonard’s rapport with Hugh Laurie is a master class in comedic timing and delivery.”

´However, in the performance I saw, there was some sort of medical emergency in the audience - I was sitting on the other side of the theater but finally realized that members of the fire department had appeared at the far left aisle near the front - and the actors, RSL and one of the women, were on the stage closer to that aisle. Anyway - they had to stop the scene, and RSL smiles at the audience and says something like since he has the opportunity, he'll get up and walk a bit - at which the audience laughed. He then chatted a couple of minutes. I can't remember what he said. What I carry with me was his ease, his seeming desire to make us the audience feel comfortable, perhapd given that someone had had a heart attack. The two actors did leave the stage, taking a break as he put it. Several minutes later, when calm was restored, the actors came back on stage, took their places and resumed their dialogue, picking up with the last few lines before the stoppage. By the time new dialogue was being recited, I think we all were back with the two young people, sitting outside the house on July 5 (I didn't hear what happened to the audience member).´

´Have heard many accounts of a show being stopped, but never been there when it happened. The cast was great about it (especially Robert Sean Leonard). Several of the cast left the stage after he called for a break. He asked for the house lights, they were turned up and someone in the front row made a remark to him about everyone leaving him on stage to which he responded, "Well, I can't walk." And so the witty banter began. The audience was delighted -- except for the lady in the audience who whined "can you please speak up so we all can hear?" I guess she had to get her money's worth.´
TV's Hottest MD's
Is There a Sexy Doctor In The House?
by Duane Wells, 365Gay.com
Medicine has always been a popular profession for some of television’s most memorable characters. Whether on a daytime soap, a primetime comedy or an offnet melodrama, television audiences have demonstrated time and time again that they love watching the lives and loves of doctors.
We may not like going to them for health reasons, but we sure as heck love watching doctors save and alter lives even as they sometimes destroy their own.
This week we take a look at some of the hottest doctors working the small screen this television season. The one thing all five of these television docs have in common is an uncanny ability to raise body temperatures by simply entering a room.
2. Robert Sean Leonard, Dr. James Wilson, House, Fox, Tuesdays at 9PM
Fox’s new hospital drama, House, is getting rave reviews for its sarcastic and often witty approach to the medical drama genre.
Personally, I give the show a rave review for providing the incredibly sexy, talented and underrated Robert Sean Leonard with a day job. Many of you will remember Robert Sean Leonard for his strong performances on film in movies like Dead Poet’s Society.
The Age of Innocence and The Last Days of Disco. You may also remember him for his stellar turn as Danny in HBO’s In The Gloaming several years back. Leonard returned to the television this season in House as Dr. James Wilson, an oncologist with whom the show’s lead character, Dr. House, consults regularly.
Onscreen, the very cerebral Mr. Leonard makes white lab coats look as sexy as jock straps and that is no small task. We’re all rooting for this well-crafted new television to develop a following if only in the hope that maybe…just maybe…we’ll get to see Dr. Wilson shed that lab coat at some point in the series. How hot would that be?
