jkr has said that one of the major themes is choosing between what is right and what is easy, in ootp, the sorting hat warns hogwarts to be united from the inside, in gof, dumbledore warns, we are only as strong as we are united as weak as we are divided... harry and ron wont take the effort to go make friends with other houses, harry says fat chance. they are taking the easy road and will not take the advice of those much wiser than themselves. to the extreme, hogwarts may completely split and the slytherins will live in their own world (mentally not physically) because now their parents are known death eaters... could they continue their study safely while their parents are fugitives?
like other ppl have said, ginny maturing was a necessary step for her eventual relationship with harry, we all know that juvenile crushes that started at age 10 rarely create a relationship, so only after ginny got over that could she and harry have a chance. if ginny is alive by the end of book 7, she and harry will be together. a plot line that just popped into my head is harry and ginny get together this book, voldemort finds out, has ginny killed, harry is in turmoil again. sorry.

eventually harry will mature and stop being so emo, he's 16 now, and he's dealt with a lot in his life, time for him to grow up and realize theres more to life than a few deaths, like his own survival and the survival of the wizarding world.
susan bones will play a bigger role. since i saw the first movie, ive been saying she'll play a bigger role - notice how she was the only name besides harry/ron/hermione to be sorted? yea. she will be important.... cant exactly figure out how...
voldemort didn't die when his spell backfired because it wasn't harry's spell. only harry can kill voldemort, only voldemort can kill harry. voldemort obviously couldnt die by his own spell then, it wasnt really harry making it. he will live to be killed.
an old point still argued. the look of triumph in dumbledores eye when he learned voldemort used harrys blood - duh. harrys blood has the protection of his mothers love in it. by using harrys blood instead of anyone elses, voldemort can now touch harry because that is the reason he couldnt before... follow me? the triumph was admiration. these two are rivals and even though dumbledore despises voldemort, he cant help but marvel at his resourcefulness
