George shot another look around the darkened flat, making sure everything was as it should be. If one trainer or the top of a head was visible, all his time spent preparing for today would be for nothing. Deeming the other guests good and hidden, he swung Harry's pilfered Invisibility Cloak around his shoulders.
Interrupting the group's excited whispers, he spoke up,
"Alright everyone, you know what to do. Just keep quiet until Harry comes in, yeah?"
There were murmurs of assent from every direction, followed by silence. Satisfied that Harry's surprise party would go off without a hitch, George crouched down beside the door to wait for the Guest of Honor to arrive.
After about five minutes of jittery waiting, George could finally hear noise in the hall. At the jingle of a set of keys outside the door, he prepared himself to spring up, his stiff legs rejoicing. There was some scraping, and then the keys fell to the floor. George heard a muffled groan and some chuckling. What was going on? Had Harry been out drinking? That wasn't like him. At least not alone, and all of his friends were currently hiding behind furniture.
The keys eventually made it into the lock, the door opening and closing quickly amidst the shuffling of feet and more chuckles. George silently counted to three, jumped up, flipped on the light switch and whipped off the cloak. The room seemed to come alive as Hermione, Luna, Neville, Hagrid and the entire Weasley clan popped out to yell,
"Surpri--!"
The group's exclamation cut off as everyone got a good look at the birthday boy. Or more importantly, at who was wrapped around him.
Draco Malfoy jumped at the loud noise, effectively detaching Harry's mouth from his throat and hands from his arse. Wide green eyes and flushed cheeks told George that Harry was not only embarrassed, but genuinely shocked, and he took a moment to congratulate himself on a job well done. Clearly, Harry had not seen this party coming.
Harry, hand in hand with Malfoy, nervously cleared his throat.
"Er, surprise!"
