I had a moment like that last week during my curry adventure. I first went to wal-mart only to find they were out of curry, then ended up going to the vons. I didn't go to the vons first because I had never been there before and I already knew where it was in wal-mart. The strangest thing happened which I had totally forgotten about until Crystal mentioned the store. I usually smile at people when I pass them, and am usually glared at in return. Well at the vons I smiled at someone, and they hesitated for a second, then gave me a big 'ole grin back. It took me a second to figure out why that was surprising!
