So... as you've noticed, there are no pictures yet. The thing is, the ones I most wanted to post are in Mr. Soph's cell-phone and I haven't managed to steal it from him yet. However, I promise to post them soon
( Read more... )
I have to rush, so this is the short comment, the longer one re. the youtube links will come later. Anyway, good luck with the cell phone stealing! Also, weren't you the one to tell me life's too short to read boring books? I haven't read that one yet, BTW. So should I continue not reading it?
I'm sure I've told you something like this because I never finish books I find boring.
The thing is... this book has two brilliant chapters and then two awful/boring ones. The subtle sense of humor is very good but many characters are either unlikable or sketchy. I've been skimming through the boring chapters, though.
I will refrain my final opinion on it till I've either finished it or abandon it entirely.
So I'll admit the longer comment might not be that much longer... But, oh my, that parrot has a better sense of rythm than many other people I know! I had to e-mail the link to other friends right away.
As for the music links, I like '3 Doors Down' but I'm not crazy about them. Somehow they sound a bit too... generic to me (I'm not sure that's the right word). I feel the same about 'My Chemical Romance', I like them, but a bit too punk-y for my taste.
Covering the 'Pet Shop Boys'? They're already bad enough in the original! Why would they want to do that? (Okay, so sometimes when I'm really in an 80ies mood, I might even listen to them - hush).
I'll wait for your final judgment on 'Jonathan Strange'.

I don't think 3 Doors Down are generic. Maybe a little mellow. I think they're on the right track. Even Green Dayhave had their ups and downs.
