the first time - part 6
sian and the family sat stunned in the waiting room
"complications? what kind of complications?" sian exclaimed
"are you a friend of hers?"
"im sian her girlfriend, now tell me whats happened!"
"i can assure you she is alive, but unconscious and in intensive care, during surgery a major artery was cut, she lost a lot of blood and her heart rate drastically slowed, everything seems to be ok now but it is still very touch and go were not sure when she will wake up, she is being constantly monitored, you can see her but only one at a time just encase anything happens we want easy access to her and no crowds"
"sally, please please can i go and see her" she said in a trembly voice
"sure, go on sian"
sian followed the nurse into the ward,
"shes in bed 4"
sian walked over to sophies bed, she lay there so pale and still with no color to her face or lips, like a ghost, her heart beat was coming from a machine next to her, and a breathing machine the other side, sian hated all the tubes that were going down her throat, up her nose, all the needles sticking out of her arm, she cant even breath by herself
"oh sophie" sian whispered as she sat down beside her and put sophies hand in hers, kissed it then rested her forehead on it, her hand was so cold.
3 days later . . .
sian was still sat beside sophies bed and sally walks in
"c'mon sian, you need a good nights rest, you dont know how long she will be like this"
"but what if i leave and she wakes up, i have to be with her"
"well, ill go and get you some more tea then"
"thanks sal"
a nurse came to change her drip
"how is she doing?"
"no change yet im afraid miss powers" the nurse said as she walked off
sian had sat there and slept there for 3 days, constantly holding and rubbing sophies hand, sian lent over and whispered something on sophies ear
"i love you, i promise i will never leave your side" then she placed a soft kiss on her lips, just as sophie did to her when her appendix burst when she was 16, she could still remember that kiss in her dream.
sian sat back in the chair
"mmmmmm" sophie mumbled as she slightly opened her eyes
sophie?! nurse nurse!" sian yelled as she pressed the nurses button, one soon came running,
"whats wrong?"
"its sophie! shes awake!"
"sian im going to need you to calm down, we cant put too much stress on her, sophie webster? how are you feeling?"
"o . . k" sophie mumbled
"this one hasn't left your side for 3 days, she's been reading to you and all" the nurse said while pointing at sian "ill go and ring your parents" shes aid as she left them alone
"i told you i would be here when you wake up" sian smiled
"thank . . you . . . i'v been asleep for 3 days?" sophie whispered, she could barley talk yet
"yeah you lazy sod" sian laughed, sophie soon let out a quiet giggle
"you'v been readin to me?"
"well . . heat magazine, you had to know what was goin on in the celebrity world!"
sophie giggled
"i . . " she croaked
"dont strain yourself babe, just move your lips dont try and talk" sian said as she watched sophies lips as she saw them mouth "i love you"
"i love you too babe"
sian lent down and kissed the back of sophies palm
sorry it may be shorter, but i wanted to make sure you knew sophie is alright! lol plus im not too sure what to wright next, but it will carry on from this!
