PERSONALITY:
Sweet and gentle, it's hard to find anything to dislike about Sophie. Not to say she's perfect--far from it, but she's so quiet that's hard to really say that anyone really knows her very well. Though not outright unfriendly or shy, Sophie does tend to lean on the introverted side of life.
However, it's a mistake to underestimate Sophie. Though sometimes her poor health might keep her from showing her full potential, Sophie is extremely capable, and is very confident in her abilities, if a little humble.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
She's short, has short blonde hair, soulless eyes, and is flat as a board in the front.
HISTORY:
Sophia Albers was born to a young couple in Schaan, Liechtenstein. It's hard to go too in-depth in her early childhood; like any other beloved child, she learned to walk, talk, use the toilet like a big girl, amongst various other things, and of course, got all of her bumps, scrapes, and tears along the way.
Unfortunately, her idyllic childhood wasn't to last long. When Sophie was six, her parents were killed in a car accident. Though Sophie wasn't in the car at the time, the stress of her situation caused her to become sickly. For the next year and a half, Sophie was passed around through her relatives, most of whom were elderly and ailing, and in no way able to take on a young girl. Eventually, by the time Sophie was eight, there was no one left to care for the girl. Despite being unable to care physically for her, one of her great uncles pulled some strings and sent her to an children's home run by the son of an old acquaintance of his.
It was there that Sophie met Vash, the son of the man who ran the home, and though Vash had never particularly cared for any of the children at the home, something about Sophie struck him, and the two quickly formed a close bond that would carry on until their college years, and eventually grow into a more intimate relationship.
Sophie was privately schooled at the home, earning high marks in most every class, and won several scholarships to attend a local university, the same one Vash was attending. It was during their time at university, in the privacy away from the children's home, that Sophie and Vash decided to pursue a relationship. Sophie has only just graduated from university, and is now currently trying to adapt to American life, which she is finding very different from life before.
Working at NC wasn't exactly a dream of Sophie's. She had received an invitation to work from the company, which hadn't quite surprised her entirely, as she had put up her resume with the university she had attended, but the prospect wasn't terribly interesting to her, as it required moving so far away from Vash, who wasn't interested in taking the position offered to him, either. However, after Vash's bank accounts were frozen, he grudgingly took the job, and Sophie chose to follow him overseas.
Maybe it was fate?

ACTION POST SAMPLE:
[Sophie was an expert on potatoes. Well, maybe not an expert, she certainly didn't have a degree in taterology, but she had the knowledge of an experience housefrau when it came to the selection and preparation potatoes.
Which is why when she overboiled the potatoes she was preparing for dinner, she is lookin distinctly bothered.]
Ah, what a waste...
PROSE SAMPLE:
If there was one thing Sophie was quickly learning about this new big city, it was that it contracted most everything that she had learned growing up.
Admittedly, that seemed a little obvious, but it went beyond just everyday niceties. In the streets here, you didn't bother to apologize to anyone if you bumped into another person. That sort of thing made sense in its own twisted way--in streets this crowded, it was hard not to be walking into people, even if you were extremely careful; apologizing to every person along the way would make a ten minute trip into an hour one. It was one of those rather unfortunate, but pragmatic evolutions, Sophie was sure.
And that wasn't all. Just going to the store was a different experience entirely, as was shopping in general. Smaller, local stores had fresher food--and better tasting, but it was so expensive to shop at them instead of the chain stores. Most of the chain stores only had mediocre produce at best, and the prices varied from store to store. The cheapest produce had its own hidden costs, Sophie knew very well, and it wasn't the value in flavor and freshness. Sophie knew that it was better on a moral-economic level to shop at local stores, but there was also a Sophie's learned instinct to shop based more by cheapness than by quality.
But Sophie wasn't just shopping for herself--she was shopping for Vash, as well, and his preferred cheap--the satisfaction of knowing they had gotten the lowest price on seemed to increase his enjoyment of food, especially cheese. It was better, she had decided, to shop to what was more realistic, and besides, wasn't it her job to go the extra mile to please him?
Not that they were, you know, married or anything like that... but Sophie wasn't one to complain; her desire to make Vash happy trumped any reluctance she may have had about going into the unfriendly streets or shopping at big businesses for cheaper.

Would anyone know if there's a website that offers legit coupons for grocery items? I get the weekly fliers, but as just wondering if there were any other places to check. Thank you!
