I really don't have much to say about the Oscars this year. I was sooo tired, that I fell asleep in the middle of it. I managed to wake up and see Best Film, and I looked the other winners up. I'm probably going to go back and watch the parts is missed, because I'm a nerd like that.
I didn't think there was anything really surprising about the results. Except everyone who is in an upheaval about Crash winning Best Picture over Brokeback Mountain. That's surprising to me. Did they even see both films? I loved Brokeback Mountain. But Crash was amazing. Even though apparently racism is out and the cool new controversial topic is homosexuality...Crash was better. Yes, I said a movie was better than Brokeback Mountain. *ducks*
Although even I did feel a little sorry for the cast of Brokeback. They didn't snag any of the actors' awards, and then they were all hopeful when Ang took Best Director (and gave the most adorable acceptance speech)...but no. That's gotta be disappointing, when your movie has caused sooo much buzz and everyone is saying you're going to get it...and then you don't.
But alas...justice was served, I think.
